How to make a fat woman bloom? What conditions does she need? What is necessary for the flowering of the money tree The tree does not bloom and does not bear fruit.

Why doesn't the money tree bloom?

There is an opinion among the people that a money tree in a house is a sign of material well-being, and if it also blooms, then prosperity and wealth will settle in this house for a long time. "Money tree" or "Fat tree" is grown by many, since the plant does not require much attention to itself, but always looks great. This non-capricious indoor flower is distinguished by small glossy fleshy leaves resembling coins and is an adornment of any interior. True, the plant does not please many with its flowering. To do this, you need to know all the secrets of care and cultivation in order to create all favorable conditions for the plant.

The flower has not only decorative qualities, but also healing properties. The fat woman releases many useful substances into the surrounding space, which can positively affect the general condition of a person and health in general. The money tree will become a real home doctor only with proper care.

A blossoming money tree is a great rarity and a pleasant surprise. Many would like to see their pet blooming, but for this it is necessary to observe some important points. In general, the plant is considered unpretentious and even patient. It grows very quickly and is easy to grow, but the flowering period is very rare. Here, the owner of the houseplant will have to be patient.

The tree fat woman is widespread in the countries of South Africa. The plant feels so great in its native conditions that it is easy to find it in the wild in a flowering state. The money tree feels favorable, being in bright sunlight and high air temperatures most of the day. The growth and development of the entire plant depends on a sufficient amount of light and heat. An excess of light and direct rays of the sun are undesirable and even dangerous. Short daylight hours, which are common in many regions with the arrival of the autumn-winter season, also negatively affect the development of the fat woman. When growing at home, it is necessary to choose a windowsill for the plant with the correct lighting, without the danger of sunburn.

Indoor flower care begins with planting it. For the money tree, the composition of the soil does not really matter. It takes root in any soil and multiplies in any way. The shoot, the tip of the shoot, and even an ordinary leaf, when it gets into the soil or water, take root very quickly, grow intensively and feel good in a new place. Correct planting is the first step towards the beginning of the long-awaited flowering. But there are other simple, but mandatory procedures.

Temperature

The indoor plant is very fond of fresh air, but negatively affects the sharp change in temperature. Therefore, it is better to “walk” on the balcony or on the street in the warm season, when the difference in temperature in the room and in the air is minimal. In the warm months, the fat woman loves temperatures from 20 to 25 degrees, and during the rest period (in winter) - from 10 to 15 degrees.

Watering

Although the fat woman belongs to the moisture-loving representatives, the excess moisture in the soil will only harm him. Firstly, with an excess of water, growth and development may slow down, and secondly, rotting of the root part of the plant is possible. It is best to water the flower after the topsoil has dried about one centimeter deep. The volume of irrigation water is moderate, but at the beginning of flowering, the amount of water during irrigation must be increased. It is important to use water at room temperature for water procedures.

Top dressing and fertilizers

The money tree has a positive attitude towards regular fertilizing, which can be applied to the soil once or even twice a month. Since the flower belongs to plants - succulents (such as, for example, a cactus), it is better to use fertilizers such as are intended for feeding cacti.

Transfer

The fat woman is a fast-growing plant that needs a timely transplant as it increases in growth and volume. To choose the right new flower pot, you need to focus on the top of the plant. Its volumes are the approximate volume of the pot. It is important when transplanting not to violate the integrity of the root part. It is better to replant the plants together with the earthen clod or most of it. The new soil mixture must be of the same composition as the old one.

Trunk formation

Experienced growers believe that the development of the stem also affects the onset of flowering of the bastard and recommend cutting off the top of the plant, which has reached a height of about 30 centimeters. This will contribute to better rooting of the tree, the appearance of new buds and the formation of a beautiful crown and a strong trunk.

Daily plant care to promote flowering

The money tree may not bloom for a long time, even for several years, but this does not mean, but it will never bloom. It is necessary to repeat daily simple rules of care that will bring this long-awaited period closer:

  • Ventilation of the room containing the plant. The fat woman is very fond of fresh air.
  • Timely disposal of the flower from dried, withered and old leaves.
  • Use a support or garter for the fast growing stem and shoots.
  • Regular wet wiping of the sheet part. Even an imperceptible layer of dust prevents the plant from breathing and fully developing.

Not everyone was lucky enough to see and admire this rare and long-awaited event. Houseplant owners probably know from books, magazines and the Internet what this beauty looks like, but everyone wants to have a flowering tree in their home.

The tree-like fat woman blooms with small white flowers, similar to small stars, which cover individual shoots or the whole plant at once. In other species of this plant, flowering is distinguished by yellow or pink shades of flowers. After waiting for the fat woman to begin this charming period, you can add money coins and colorful ribbons to the blooming beauty, which will complete the symbolic image of wealth and prosperity.

A fat woman (tree) or money tree stands on the windowsill at every second, but few know that it also blooms with incredibly beautiful flowers. People say that a fat woman can bring wealth and prosperity. So how do you persuade a money tree to bloom and bring good luck into your home?

Why the money tree doesn't bloom:

1.Bolstanka rarely blooms, and the flowering period will need to wait. In addition, for the first time, the bastard blooms "at the age" of about 5 years.

2. The fat woman takes root well in almost any soil and does not need abundant moisture. Therefore, if you water the flower abundantly, then do not expect the money tree to bloom.

How to make your money tree bloom:

  1. Use room temperature water for watering.
  2. Fertilize and feed the plant. You can use the same fertilizers as for the cactus.
  3. In the spring, when the cold weather has passed, start taking the flower out into the fresh air, or ventilate the apartment.
  4. As the flower grows, repot it periodically into a new pot.
  5. Get rid of bad and old leaves.

Hello gardeners, readers of my blog!

When gardeners come to my garden to buy seedlings, from a very large number of them, very, very often I get a question:

Why does the tree bloom but not bear fruit?

Now it's time to present this problematic issue for my online visitors, because I have some goal (which is closed by this blog site), not only to sell seedlings, but also to give people benefit, knowledge that an ordinary inexperienced gardener can apply to the level of GURU with guaranteed success to cultivate fruit crops in your garden, to receive a harvest ... in general, to rejoice and receive satisfaction and pacification.

We read carefully the article (and other useful articles of my blog) and everything in your garden and in your soul will be in Feng Shui :)))

A beautifully and abundantly flowering tree is not a guarantee of fruit ovary on it!

There are no secrets, there is clear knowledge biological characteristics of the species, its correct agricultural technology applicable in specific climatic conditions and soil - they are all different, even the dependence of the location of the garden plot can be traced - even those located at a distance of 100 meters from each other can radically differ in climate and soil.

From this article, you will learn everything, gain KNOWLEDGE and stop practicing dissolutely, uprooting seedlings that were once obtained and planted with difficulty.

The reason for the lack of harvest # 1. Freezing.

Sometimes recurrent spring frosts are the reason for the loss of the future, or rather a failed harvest. Even if the wood does not freeze, then more thermophilic fruit buds and foliage - easily! In some cases, this can be prevented - by covering the plants on the eve of a frosty night, but, of course, this is not always possible, for example, elementary due to the size of the tree.

And of course - abnormally cold and early autumn (plants enter abruptly in the cold season without having time to prepare, without dropping the foliage) and winter, lack of snow cover or a small amount of it are risk factors. fruit, but dry up. There are such anomalous years, usually once a decade.

The reason for the lack of harvest number 2. Ignorance in biology.

A little knowledge of biology: plants are dioecious and monoecious, wind-pollinated (for example, sea buckthorn) and pollinated by insects (for example, felt cherry, actinidia and a bunch of other types of fruit and berry crops), self-fertile (self-pollinated, in most cases it is more correct to say - partially self-fertile - lonely plants in garden, sometimes affects the scanty harvest, although it is).

For example, a peach, any variety is completely self-fertile.

Why doesn't the apricot bear fruit?

Apricot and cherry are monoecious, but they need a DIFFERENT pollinator.

Note: We plant seeds from one tree and THIS WILL BE DIFFERENT "VARIETIES" (conventionally, cultivars) that can pollinate each other, and if they are obtained from the same tree by cuttings, or by root offspring of a plant, they will not be able to pollinate each other , they will be genetically completely identical and will be full clones of their mother.

Why doesn't the pear bear fruit?

For the same reason. This type of plant is still very rare in gardens, precisely because of the lack of harvest ... due to the gardener's ignorance of the biology of the species. Plant another tree nearby, a pollinator variety blooming simultaneously, or plant a varietal branch in the crown and you will have delicious fruits, for example SUCH . My neighbor raised for 14 years !!! pear "Svarog" in the garden and tasted the fruits only in the 15th year, when the pear tree "Perun" began to bloom for me. We exchanged fruits for tasting ... "Perun" is cooler - it is practically a Siberian "Conference". I definitely recommend this variety to Siberians.

Learn materiel!

A dioecious plant is when there is a purely male plant and a purely female of the same species. As an example - sea buckthorn and actinidia(I strongly advise planting actinidia in your garden - both Kolomikta and Arguta ... these are its varieties), they have female plants on which berries and male ones are actually tied - which pollinate female specimens and under no circumstances can berries tie up.

Why don't actinidia and sea buckthorn bear fruit?

Now you know the answer to this question.

Elite sea buckthorn "Augustine" with giant fruits

Sometimes it is funny to observe on sites selling seedlings how it is written in the product card - a male pollinator, and in the picture a PLANT WITH BERRIES! What do you think, is it worth buying seedlings from such a seller? It is clear that this is not a manufacturer, but an outbid! You are guaranteed to buy a pig in a poke from such a seller.

With large nursery producers now, too, everything is not so simple, their yardstick is money and they are only interested in a client BEFORE receiving money, and then ... let him train. In one garden research institute with the name I myself sometimes almost got there (it's good that I, as they say, in the subject and I have KNOWLEDGE), but they wanted to make a sucker out of me and sell a female plant under the guise of a male sea buckthorn tree of the Alei variety. And in sea buckthorn, sex differences are simply striking - the buds of the male and female plants, well, are very different from each other.

But in this case, if a person is ignorant, hopes for the seller's competence ... what honest eyes they have ... those who want to help you buy a seedling of the right variety - okay wasted money, but the most offensive is that the person lost time that cannot be replenished and it turns out from him a tree grows ... just a tree, for which it is in the garden is not known, but what it was bought for ... it will not perform this function in the garden ... perhaps never. We sit down and wriggle - the long-time fun of a gardener who is not grounded in KNOWLEDGE. Our ignorance is in full use SOLD of different stripes and ranks, and sometimes even these are sold with a NAME!

State nurseries for the most part now work with the population is simply disgusting. This is a given. There are a lot of negative reviews from my buyers. We bought a pear, and the plum grew! These, alas, are no longer single veils. And re-grading is a common thing. Human factor….

How many times have I seen on the pages of the GURU sites from gardening advertisements for the sale of damanka felt cherry, and in the picture - Bessya cherry. You correctly make a remark to them - they go into a deaf resentment and ... nothing on their website changes, because PRIDE - the measure of modern man. But in the gardening business, to think categorically and categorically is the most severe delusion, but this phenomenon is often encountered.

There are people doing business selling felt cherries, apricots and peaches. This heresy and scam and the like is permissible only as an exchange or a gift, but not in the form of buy and sell, and only to a person who knows exactly what he needs it for (an experienced gardener) - this is the only case. When they ask me to sell the bones, I always refuse and explain to people that they are thinking in the wrong direction and that those who want to save something lose both money and time. Buy a ready-made seedling!

A gardener at a crossroads….

Let's continue our biology lesson.

Sometimes plants have mutual interspecific pollinators: SVG (plum-cherry hybrid), Bessia (sand cherry), felt cherry - these plants pollinate each other perfectly!

These plant species generally bloom very plentifully and also bear fruit abundantly, are fast-growing, especially SVG and Bessa - they yield from the second year of life, if only they are well cross-pollinated, that is, there are OTHER varieties or other pollinating species in the garden (I listed). These plants are natural dwarfs and very rarely grow more than 1.5 meters. My advice, if you have space in your garden, plant SEVERAL (2-3) SVG varieties, for example Beta, Opata, Giavata, Mainor, Omskaya nochka, SVG 11-19 "Pyramidal", Bessi (I have it on sale as a traditional with red fruits and with yellow ones) and felt cherries, by the way, I sell a completely self-pollinated variety originally from Khabarovsk - I recommend it.

I had a customer who had 4 felt cherry trees in the garden and NONE of them bore fruit, although they bloomed regularly every year. She does not know what kind of variety. cherries and was surprised by its taste, and after all, after her bad experience, she categorically did not want to return to this culture! I convinced her and she was hefty satisfied in the end.

I am registered on the forum of gardeners of the Far East and there I also read angry responses from members of the forum for one variety that gardeners first buy and then uproot, because they cannot taste the fruits from it, and, moreover, almost everything. That is what the originators (the creators of the variety) created, that nature rejects it?

And SVG, especially grade 11-19 (you can buy it), and Bessya and felt cherry can be rootstocks for grafting not only varieties of their own kind, but also other species, including peach, nectarine, apricot (but IMHO apricot is better on them do not graft, the tree will not differ in durability). I set up such experiments in my garden, since I have plenty of rootstocks.

Golden currant (aka American) is a partially self-fertile crop, alone this plant will bear fruit, but there will be few of them .... but I assure you - this is a delicious fragrant berry, the plant does not get sick with ANYTHING, bears fruit annually, therefore, in order not to get disappointment from the lack of tasty berries, you need to plant at least 2 varieties, but better all 3. I have not only plants with a traditional black berry, but also a variety with a yellow berry "Siberian Sun". You can look at this wonderful plant and possibly purchase it.

Golden currant variety "Siberian Sun"

In all varieties of golden currant, the berries differ in taste.

Blueberries - there are self-fertile varieties, for example "Patriot" and there are partially self-fertile ones, which need a nearby pollinator variety. I have already written about my "Patriot" and filmed a video, the article can be read I grew up alone, but he had so many flowers - they all started! The berry is very tasty, tender and simply huge.

You have carefully read this article and have become competent gardeners, but do not rush to enter queries into the search bar: self-fertile pear varieties, self-fertile plum varieties, self-fertile cherry varieties, self-fertile apricot varieties, self-fertile actinidia varieties, etc. - if a specific plant species in the general case (the absolute majority of species varieties) has a nearby pollinator - buy two trees of different varieties, and if the plant (species) is dioecious, buy both a male and a female plant (one male plant can usually pollinate up to 10 female plants). And you will have great happiness and a delicious reward.

Now the question "Why does the tree bloom, but does not bear fruit?" not relevant for you :))

Happy gardening, colleagues!

See you soon on the blog pages! Well, in the fall there will be a VERY interesting assortment ... in limited quantities, so do not forget to visit my blog in early September and maybe you will look after something for your garden. Catalog

Many flower growers are sure that the presence of an indoor money tree or a fat woman in the house promises wealth and prosperity. And if the plant also blooms, then a lot of money will surely fall on you. True, few have seen what such a flower looks like. Let's figure out how to make the money tree bloom.

Crassula came to us from South Africa - there this tree-like culture is widespread. Under natural conditions, the plant feels so great that its flowering is far from uncommon. At home, the culture tolerates long hot periods with intense and long daylight hours. The fat woman begins to bloom upon reaching a certain age, and then this is repeated quite often.

Video "Why the money tree does not bloom"

From this video you will learn why the fat woman does not bloom and how to fix it.

Does it bloom at home

The money tree blooms at home, however, this happens much less often than at home. There are several reasons why your plant fails to bloom:

  • as in natural conditions, the flowering of the money tree is possible only after reaching a certain age - to see how incredibly it blooms
  • the fat woman is possible only when the culture crosses the 5-year line;
  • correct lighting mode - Crassula prefers short daylight hours. If it is in direct sunlight, it will most likely fail to make the culture bloom;
  • the correct irrigation regime - given that the culture belongs to succulents, it does not require abundant soil moisture. With excess moisture in the pot
  • you will not see your money tree blooming.

How to create the right conditions

The fat woman cannot be called a capricious plant - it grows well in any soil. It is also easy to propagate it - a branchy tree grows even from a small leaf. To see with your own eyes what a plant looks like when it blooms, you need to properly care for the money tree:

  • we observe the temperature regime - the fat woman needs fresh air, but does not like a sharp temperature drop. The culture develops best when the indoor air temperature is in the range from +15 to +30 degrees;
  • moderate watering - a blooming bastard and excessive moistening of an earthen coma in a pot are incompatible concepts. Moreover, the accumulation of moisture in the soil can lead to root rot. It is best to water the bastard when the ground dries out by about 0.5 cm;
  • the plant requires regular fertilization - it is better to do this 2-3 times a month. When choosing feedings, give preference to those designed for succulents;
  • Crassula is growing rapidly, therefore it requires a systematic transplant into a large container. All transplant manipulations must be done with utmost care so as not to damage the roots. To create favorable conditions for the appearance of the long-awaited flowers, the next pot should be only 1–2 cm larger than the previous one;
  • so that the plant can form a powerful trunk and a beautiful crown, flower growers advise the top as soon as its height reaches 35 cm.

Hello, dear editorial office of the Smart Economy newspaper! About 7 or 8 years ago, I planted a few. They grew up beautiful and high (almost to the power lines). But ... Why do not the trees bear fruit, and why do they bloom thinly?

I ask you to tell how you can help my problem. Do my plums have a chance to please me with fruits, and what needs to be done for this? I really don't want to get rid of my favorite trees. Thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully, your constant reader and subscriber,Alexander Boroday,

Helping gardeners and trees

We are often contacted with such questions. I would like to help everyone - both gardeners and trees. Although we cannot give standard advice, this problem is very individual and requires more specificity. To get a more complete answer, it is important to describe the background of tree care: in what soil it was planted, in what place, which plants are adjacent to each other, how the initial and subsequent care was provided, etc.

To reliably establish the cause, it is important to inspect the tree in each specific case. Usually even a cursory glance is enough to make the correct "diagnosis". But difficult situations also happen.

Common cases when a fruit tree does not want to bloom and bear fruit

Referring to the letters of readers, where their examples are described, as well as to scientific encyclopedias on gardening, we will consider the most common cases when a fruit tree does not want to bloom and bear fruit, and what may be the reason.

The tree does not bloom or bear fruit

For example, for over 10 years. There may be several reasons.

  1. Most likely, it is a wild animal. You can cut it down. If the tree is less than 10 years old, then you can try horizontal molding of branches - tie it to a peg with a rope. After a year, when the branch "gets used" to the new position, let it go. This often helps a lot.
  2. The tree has received an excess containing nitrogen. And it doesn't matter if it is mineral fertilizers or organic.

The tree blooms, but there are no fruits

  1. Poor pollination of inflorescences - the ovary is simply not formed or in a scanty amount. Here you need a pollinator tree of the same culture, but of a different variety;
  2. Self-infertility of the tree: there are varieties that cannot set fruit without the pollen of the pollinator. It is necessary to attract bees and other pollinating insects to the garden - to plant honey plants.

Our reader from Kremenchug Zoya Nikolaevna told us that for this purpose she sprays flowering trees with a weak solution of honey, and during flowering hangs containers with water on the plums, where she places flowering branches from other varietal plums.

Of course, it all depends on the weather. When there are prolonged rains, strong winds, cold, then the bees do not fly to the flowers. As a result, the tree misses the chance to get dusty and does not yield a harvest.

The ovary forms, but falls off

In this case, the most common reasons are soil acidification or a lack of boron.

The ovary forms, but falls off

Here is what a reader from Vinnitsa IG Butenko writes to us about this: “I know that many gardeners simply deify manure - and this is because for a thousand years people have been fertilizing all plants only with it. But the fact is that manure alone will not be enough for a garden. For some reason, manure contains very little boron. Therefore, it is more effective to rely not on manure, but to try the method I have tested.

Fertilizer for trees

At first preparing the mixture, which is capable of deoxidizing the soil and saturating it with boron.

You need to take 2-3 kg of lime or dolomite flour, mix with 200 g of boric acid. First you need to mix boric acid with a small amount of lime or flour (a couple of kilograms), and then mix with the rest of the lime or dolomite. Knead thoroughly and for a long time - about five minutes, turning in a barrel, as in a concrete mixer, or in a bag. When the mixture is ready, spread it evenly into the soil - a glass (200 g) per 1 sq. meter. It's minimum. You can even double the dose the first time. In the future, a glass is enough. Make sure the fertilizer is free of lumps. To do this, you can rub it through a sieve or mesh. Apply over the entire crown projection. After application, close with a rake».

Smoke pile from frost

Smoke heaps from frost

Also, many gardeners call frosts down to -3 degrees one of the main reasons for the dropping of the ovary. Unfortunately, in recent years they have become frequent. Therefore, it is important to know in advance about the onset of a sharp cold snap and prepare for this. The most common way to combat frost is to create a smoke screen by burning smoke piles or special smoke bombs. Smoke heaps are made from rotten straw, dry manure, tops, leaves, that is, from such a material that does not burn with a flame, but gives a lot of smoke. Some straw, brushwood or weeds are placed on the ground, and manure is placed on top. Then sprinkle with earth and light. If the heap begins to burn with a flame, it is again sprinkled with earth. One smoke pile is required for every 2 trees. In this way, you can keep the garden from frost, even if the temperature drops to -3-4 ° C.

"If you don't bloom in spring - I'll cut it!"

There are also essentially folk gardening methods that contribute to the early fruiting of trees. Our reader from Khmelnytsky region Olga Kukharchuk told us about several such methods that are passed down from generation to generation in her family: “I am an opponent of inorganic fertilizers, so I don’t use superphosphates and similar preparations. If the tree does not bear fruit for a long time - whether it is an apple tree, a pear, a plum - try to "scare" it. My father taught me this, and my grandfather Ivan taught him in due time. The method is very, very effective. Here's what you need to do. Walk up to a tree in winter and say: "If you don't bloom in spring, I'll cut it!" And many gardeners use the method of hammering nails into the trunk (but not all admit it). We do it on Christmastide. Nails, slowly rusting, release iron ions into the tree sap - as if fortifying it. And already in the spring the tree will bloom profusely. "

As you can see, in order for the trees to bloom, bear fruit and delight you, they need more active life - the so-called moderately stressful conditions. An ax in this sense is a very extreme case.

Trees feel a person

I think our esteemed subscriber has decided on the right method. And from myself I want to recommend him this: first, cut your plums so that they do not rest against the wires with their crowns, and thin the branches. Then act as appropriate. The main thing in this business is not to harm. Remember also that trees feel a person and even understand his speech (the same folk wisdom is a witness to this). Talk to your plums and ask them to delight with exuberant flowering and delicious fruits. I believe you will succeed!
