Cement particle board wt. What is cement particle board? Overview and description of the material

The DSP plate, the technical characteristics of which will be presented in the article, is used quite often today. It is distinguished by outstanding qualities that have made the material common in private and professional construction.

Characteristics of the DSP plate

Due to the fact that the described material has excellent characteristics, it has found its wide distribution in various areas of construction. Cement particle board is composed of wood shavings, Portland cement, special additives, the latter of which are able to provide excellent protective qualities. During the production process, all of the listed components are combined, and then mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Then the composition is pressed.

Products are manufactured in accordance with GOST, which strictly regulate the composition. Thus, among the components should be 65% Portland cement, 24% wood chips, 8.5% water, and 2.5% impurities. The density is ensured by the presence of Portland cement in the composition, the same component guarantees the durability of the material. The production of plates is carried out on special equipment in a factory, as evidenced by a quality certificate, as well as a product passport. The composition of the plates contains natural wood, which ensures the environmental friendliness of the material. This indicates that the stove is completely harmless to humans.

Positive features of the DSP

The DSP plate, the technical characteristics of which must be known before purchase, is of excellent quality, which makes it possible to use this material in professional construction. Technological processes for the manufacture of plates are based on the mineralization and bonding of all components, so it is possible to completely eliminate the appearance of a radioactive background, the release of steam, dirt or dust.

DSP slabs are actively used in the construction of strong and warm housing. Quite often this material is compared with others. The described plates are so strong that they win in this comparison. Their service life is much longer.
Additional advantages include excellent resistance to temperature extremes and frost, which meets the requirements for modern building materials.

The DSP plate, the technical characteristics of which are described in the article, has proven itself perfectly. These products perfectly cope with the influence of rodents, insects, as well as mold and fungus. The composition of the material does not contain phenol, asbestos, impurities and formaldehyde resins. These plates can be used for all types of finishes. The surface of the plates can be plastered, finished with plastic, painted, tiled, covered with various decorative materials, etc. It is easy to use this material, as it can be easily processed. It contains a large amount of chips, which makes the product look like natural wood, but these plates have high strength. DSPs can be used in the construction of partitions, which will have excellent soundproofing qualities. DSP walls will be able to provide sound absorption up to 30 dB.

Strength characteristics of DSP

DSP, whose technical characteristics differ from other alternative materials, have a high density. This is due to the fact that the chip pressing method is used in the production process. The inner layers of the product contain fibers that have a more impressive length. This guarantees the material excellent elasticity, smoothness, as well as high strength characteristics. The material has several layers, so it is able to deal with moisture. The special technology used in the production does not allow the product to delaminate. The slab will not break even if it is subjected to a mechanical force like bending. The material copes well with high loads, during operation it can be affected by a mechanical nature, which makes such plates so common and popular in construction.

DSP cost

DSP - a plate, the technical characteristics, the price of which should interest you if you plan to use this material in construction, may have different sizes. The most traditional dimensions can be called 1250x2700 mm. the cost of such a sheet will be equal to 675 rubles. This cost can be called very affordable, which makes such material so popular among analogues. Despite the fact that the cost of the plate is quite small, its quality remains excellent.

DSP dimensions

The DSP plate, the technical characteristics of which must be indicated in the quality certificate, must be examined by the consumer before purchase. It is important to consider the size range of these products. The plate can have a width of 1250 mm or 1200 mm. The latest standard is considered modern. But, despite this, slabs of different sizes are still being produced. The length can be equal to 2700 mm, while the thickness is equivalent to 8 mm. Such a product weighs 36 kg. If the thickness is increased to 10 mm, the weight will be 46 kg. Thickness of 12 mm increases the weight to 50 kg, and 16 mm to 74 kg. The plate thickness of 18 mm makes the mass equal to 81 kg.

With a slab length of 3200 mm, the thickness can be 8 mm, while the weight of the slab is 43 kg; with a thickness of 10 mm, the mass will be 54 kg, while a thickness of 12 mm gives a weight of 65 kg.

The standard size is 1200 mm. A plate with a length of 2700 mm can have a thickness of 8 mm and a weight of 35 kg. A plate thickness of 10 mm gives a mass of 44 kg. Among other things, the buyer can purchase a plate that has been made to certain dimensions. The length of the slab can be 3600 mm or 3000 mm. You should not look for products on sale, the edges of which have a semicircular shape, since such plates are not available. Also, products whose edges are thinner are not produced in the factory. After the plate is purchased, it will not need to be treated with an antiseptic, since the products are exposed to antiseptic effects at the factory.

Scope of DSP

DSP slab, the technical characteristics of which must be studied before making a purchase, is used today in housing construction. Products are able to provide internal protection from the cold. This material can be used when cladding walls made of concrete. Products are used in low-rise construction, as well as in the construction of special-purpose buildings. DSP is excellent for rooms whose conditions are characterized by a high level of humidity. After the plate is installed, its surface does not have to be treated. It will be enough just to cover the surface with a primer or a composition that has water-repellent characteristics. Buildings in which DSP is used are capable of undergoing serious operational loads.

Additional scope of products

The DSP slab, the technical characteristics, the application of which can be found in this article, is also used for fixed-type formwork equipment, which allows achieving excellent results. At the same time, some positive features can be distinguished, among them: reducing the time for construction work, reducing the amount of construction costs, as well as ensuring the reliability and strength of the future structure. The DSP plate, the technical characteristics, the use of which made the products popular, is also used today in the manufacture of window sills. At the same time, the latter are obtained not only durable, but also quite inexpensive compared to analogues. You should not assume that due to the insignificant cost of the DSP, the window sill will have a very unsightly and unpresentable appearance. Such products have excellent decorative qualities and look like expensive window sills made of noble materials.

How to quickly and efficiently, but at the same time with a minimum waiting time, level the floors in an apartment or house? If it is the speed of work that is very important, and the creation of a conventional cement screed is impossible, then a DSP slab is perfect for this purpose. The use of this building material for the floor allows you to make surfaces even very quickly. At the same time, the coating will be durable and of high quality.

DSP slab - floor application

DSP is a cement-bonded particle board, and the name fully reflects the composition of this material. DSPs are made from a mixture, the components of which are wood chips and cement compositions.

The composition of the building material includes:

  • wood chips with fractions of various sizes - 24%;
  • water - 8.5%;
  • special additives - 2.5%;
  • Portland cement - 65%.

The production process is quite simple - DSP is done as follows.

  1. Special water solutions are loaded into special mixers, which include various salts, liquid glass and aluminum.
  2. Further, wood shavings with fractions of different sizes are gradually added to these solutions - mineralization of raw materials occurs.
  3. Cement is added to the resulting composition and a little more water is added.
  4. The mass is subjected to thorough mixing until a homogeneous mass and then goes under a powerful press.

The result of this production chain is the finished cement particle board, which is quite thin and has a smooth surface. A large amount of cement in the composition allows you to create a fairly durable material. By the way, inside the plate, the chips have b about Larger dimensions than outside, due to which the smoothness of the surface of the finished material is achieved. DSP does not need to be further leveled after laying, making the material excellent for creating a rough floor covering for laminate, tile and other types of finishes. Also, voids are not formed inside the DSP during production.

On a note! Wood shavings are also used as a raw material in the production of chipboard, fiberboard and OSB boards. The technologies for the production of these materials are somewhat similar to the technology for producing CSP boards.

DSP boards are widely used in construction. They can be used to decorate the facade walls of houses, they are used to create various partitions inside the premises. The material is suitable for use in restoration purposes and for interior finishing work. At the same time, it is suitable for apartments and private houses.

DSP plate is distinguished by high environmental friendliness, as it is created from natural materials and practically does not contain additional chemical ingredients. That is why the stove is recommended for use both in residential premises and in production.

The use of cement particle board is an opportunity to abandon the laborious pouring of a cement screed to create a base. Building material allows you to reduce labor costs and spend less money from the budget planned for leveling the floors for laying the finish coating.

Characteristics of DSP board

DSP is a material of a completely new category, characterized by significant strength, long service life, and a certain level of moisture resistance. It also has good soundproofing and heat-saving properties. All these features allowed DSP boards to take a strong place in the construction industry - they are used for various purposes.

Of course, this material is far from ideal, but still, due to its properties and characteristics, it can be used both outside and inside the building. DSP plate does not lose its qualities in a variety of climatic conditions.

On a note! Compared to the usual chipboard for many, the board based on cement and chips is 3 times stronger and has high resistance to various physical influences and loads.

The density of one cubic meta CSP plate is quite high - about 1300-1400 kg / m 3. The moisture content of the material is 6-12%. By the way, the material is not 100% protected from the effects of water, however, swelling upon contact with liquid during a full day should not exceed 2%.

To the touch, the plate is rough, but smooth - often these indicators depend on the grinding method used. Sometimes the DSP does not need the latter - if the roughness level is not more than 80 microns. The plate is selected in accordance with the operating conditions, as well as the requirements for the final results. For example, indoors, smooth slabs are usually used, while rougher ones can be dispensed with outside.

On a note! The finishing of CSP boards is simple - any type of floor finish can be laid on them, and paint, varnish, plaster, etc. can be easily applied to the surface.

Advantages and disadvantages

What are the main advantages and disadvantages of plates over other similar materials? Let's consider the answer to this question in more detail.

DSP Advantages:

  • environmental friendliness of the material, as it is made from natural ingredients. DSP does not contain asbestos- and formaldehyde-containing substances;
  • fungus and mold do not settle on the plates;
  • the material is not hygroscopic - this is its main advantage over chipboard;
  • DSP does not suffer from temperature fluctuations, does not lose its operational qualities;
  • 100% incombustibility of DSP plates allows them to be used in any premises. The material can resist fire for 50 minutes;
  • reasonable price, allowing you to purchase material even in the case of a small budget;
  • significant strength due to the multi-layer material. Excellent performance is noted at pressure both from the end of the plate, and from any of the other sides;
  • the plate does not require work on additional leveling of surfaces;
  • the material is not afraid of chemical influences;
  • cement-bonded particle board perfectly resists decay processes;
  • relative impermeability to water - during the day, the DSP is able to absorb a maximum of 16% of the liquid;
  • high soundproofing and heat-insulating qualities;
  • ease of installation.

On a note! DSP boards are recommended for use when installing a water heated floor system. In this case, it will be possible to create an additional air gap between the heating and the finish coating, which will significantly improve the result of the work done.

The disadvantages of plates are as follows:

  • a large mass of material, which makes it difficult to work with it;
  • during processing, the DSP generates a lot of dust. If you have to cut the plates, then you should wear a respirator and goggles so as not to harm the organs of vision and breathing.

However, the advantages of the material are much greater than the disadvantages, which determines its popularity in construction, including for leveling floors. Usually DSP boards are laid on logs - this is the best option for using the material in this area. More often DSP is laid under laminate, carpet, linoleum, ceramic tiles.

In general, it can be noted that DSP boards are superior to drywall, chipboard and fiberboard in most indicators, which makes them one of the best building materials. Also, the DSP will save a lot of money if a choice is made in their favor.

DSP in insulation works

Most often, DSP is used in the field of insulation of buildings and structures. Usually the building is sheathed with material from the outside. Fixing is done with screws or nails.

But, since DSP is an environmentally friendly material, wall and floor cladding can also be made from inside the room. The sheathing process is similar to what is done outside: the material is attached to a wooden or metal crate using nails or self-tapping screws. Sometimes adhesive mastics can also be used. After the installation of the plates, the finishing is carried out.

floor application

DSP is often used to create a subfloor. Most often, the material is laid on the basis that in the future ceramic tiles will be glued to it - this is the most demanding coating for evenness of the base. DSPs are also suitable for pouring and for installing soft floor coverings.

DSP slabs can be mounted on logs, as well as laid on a flat concrete or wooden base. The material serves for many years and at the same time is able to withstand significant loads, subject to proper installation.

The choice of cement sheets for the floor

The choice of DSP boards is carried out in accordance with the conditions in which the material will be used, as well as the technology by which it will be installed. For laying on logs, plates with a thickness of 20-26 mm are used - they will perfectly cope with their function as a rough base. If the installation is carried out directly on the ground, then plates of 24-26 mm are used. In general, almost any DSP boards can be used for floor leveling.

On a note! DSP boards can be laid even in cold weather. It does not matter if outside the window the air temperature drops below zero.

Requirements for DSP boards used for floor installation:

  • humidity - from 6 to 12%;
  • density - more than 1300 kg / m 3;
  • tensile strength - 0.4 MPa;
  • surface roughness - 80 microns;
  • moisture absorption level - 16%.

Preparing for DSP Coating

Before starting work on arranging a rough coating from DSP, the subfloor must be properly prepared. For example, in the case of laying material on a wooden base, old or rotten boards must be dismantled and replaced with new ones. It is important to close all the cracks with putty, and the wooden base is primed for better adhesion to the glue, on which the slab coating will be mounted.

If the installation will be carried out on a concrete base, then it should also be carefully inspected for damage and repaired if necessary. Also, if there are strong horizontal deviations, leveling is carried out with cement mixtures. In the case of laying DSP on the ground, a preliminary leveling of the surface is necessarily carried out - this can be done by pouring a sand-gravel mixture 20 cm thick on the ground and ramming it.

The best option is to lay DSP boards on logs. In this case, if it is planned to install the base directly above the ground, the supports for the logs are installed on the ground, and hydro and thermal insulation is laid. The distance between the supports can vary from 0.5 to 1 m - this figure depends on the thickness of the beam used for the logs.

Materials and tools that need to be prepared for working with DSP:

  • timber for lags (section 150x100 or 50x100 mm);
  • DSP boards in the required quantity;
  • antiseptic solution for timber;
  • sawing tool (for example, a hacksaw);
  • materials for waterproofing and insulation;
  • measuring instruments (tape measure, pencil);
  • fixing material;
  • drill.

Arrangement of the floor with the help of DSP

Let's consider the arrangement of the floor from the DSP on the logs using the example of a balcony.

Step 1. A layer of insulation is laid under the logs. Logs are installed parallel to the walls at a distance of about 30-40 cm from each other.

Step 2 Cross bars are installed, crates are being created. Between themselves, wooden bars are connected using metal corners and self-tapping screws.

Step 3 The space between the lags is filled with insulating material.

Step 4 DSP slabs of the required dimensions are laid across the longitudinal logs. The width of the piece of material should be slightly less than the width of the balcony (by 5-10 mm).

Step 5 The plates are fastened with self-tapping screws on the logs. The gaps between the DSP boards are sealed with adhesive.

DSP floors: laying nuances

In general, the installation of DSP boards is carried out in exactly the same way as the laying of OSB boards. During the work, it is important to follow a few rules, and then the base of the floor will turn out to be of the highest quality:

  • a wooden beam for a log must be treated with compounds that prevent rotting. Special compositions can be replaced with engine oil;

  • when installing plates on a concrete screed for a log, you can use a beam of a smaller section - up to 50x50 mm. This will save usable space;
  • when installing the log, you should monitor their level - it must be strictly horizontal;
  • before installation, DSP boards are laid out on logs - this will allow you to determine which of them need to be trimmed if necessary;
  • glue must be well mixed before use;
  • Compensation gaps along the walls will allow avoiding deformation of the DSP base.

DSP - the material is not bad enough, if you use it to create an even base. It is not difficult to work with him, but due to the large mass of sheets, it is better to get an assistant.

Cement-bonded particle boards (DSP) are classified as universal sheet building materials. The raw material for cement-bonded particle board (CSP) is Portland cement, crushed wood chips and additives that reduce the effect of substances contained in wood on the formation of cement stone.

Manufacturing technology of cement-bonded particle boards (DSP)

The production technology of CBPB can be briefly described as the formation of a three-layer "pie" from two types of cement-chip mixture: a mixture with fine-chip filler forms the outer layers, and with a coarse aggregate - the inner layer. The plywood board is then molded under high pressure hydraulic presses to achieve perfect smoothness and thickness.

The use of cement-bonded particle boards (DSP)

CSP is applied:

  • As sheathing and cladding along rails or frames, vertical - for walls, partitions, pillars, ventilation hoods, etc., both for interior decoration and for facades.
  • As an outer screen layer of a ventilated facade.
  • In the construction of floors and flat roofs.

DSP does not seriously compete with fibreboard, drywall, GVL and baked plywood, due to the variation in the characteristics of these sheet materials. All these plates are in demand depending on the working conditions and the required performance.

DSP board size

DSP size standard 2.7 * 1.25 m and 3.2 * 1.25 m with thickness gradations in mm 8; 10; 12; 16; twenty; 24 and 36.

Main technical characteristics of cement-bonded particle boards (DSP)

We list the main characteristics of DSP boards:

  1. Specific gravity (density) - 1250-1400 kg / m3. A standard DSP sheet with dimensions of 2.7 * 1.25 m and a thickness of 16 mm weighs 72.9 kg.
  2. Ultimate strength in bending at thicknesses of 10, 12, 16 mm - 12 MPa; with a thickness of 36 mm - 9 MPa.
  3. Tensile strength along the perpendicular to the plane of the plates is not less than 0.4 MPa.
  4. Modulus of elasticity in bending - not less than 3500 MPa.
  5. Flammability classification - group G1 (classified as low combustible).
  6. Frost resistance of 50 cycles with a guarantee of a decrease in strength by no more than 10%.
  7. Thermal properties. Thermal conductivity coefficient 0.26 W/m*deg С.
  8. The value of the coefficient of linear expansion is 0.0235 mm / m * deg C.
  9. Vapor permeability coefficient 0.03 mg/m*h*Pa.
  10. Specific resistance when pulling out screws from 4 to 7 N/m.
  11. By biostability classified as class 4 products
  12. In terms of sound insulation - with a thickness of 12 mm, the value of the airborne sound insulation index is 31 dB. When laying on a reinforced concrete base made of load-bearing slabs, they reduce the penetration of impact noise with a DSP thickness of 20 mm - by 16 dB. When laying on elastic materials - by 9 dB.
  13. Linear increases in size after soaking in water for a day - 2% in thickness and 0.3% in length.
  14. The service life when used in dry rooms is at least 50 years.

Pros and cons of cement-bonded particle boards (DSP)

We list the main advantages of DSP boards:

  • Environmental friendliness. DSP does not contain any harmful and dangerous substances either in the composition or in the manufacturing technology. Phenolic-formaldehyde resins are absent in the chip filler.
  • Frost resistance is good - at least 50 cycles.
  • Fire resistance G1 is a definite plus for the facing material.
  • Moisture resistance of DSP boards that do not have a protective layer of hydrophobization - weak, protection from moisture is required - minus
  • Soundproofing and soundproofing qualities are excellent.
  • Good biostability. Fungus and mold do not form on the surface of the plates, even when used in a humid environment.
  • Excellent resistance to longitudinal deformations, it is used for cladding along guides in frame houses of any number of storeys.
  • It combines well with other materials and constructions such as wood, polymers and plastics, metals and ceramics.
  • High manufacturability, simplicity and speed of processing. Cutting, drilling is possible. Installation is simple, most hardware is suitable.
  • Almost all types of finishing on DSP are possible, it can be pasted over with any type of wallpaper, including heavy ones, plastered, tiled, painted with any compositions - water-based, acrylic, oil, alkyd, etc.
  • The smooth working surface of the DSP and perfectly even thickness allow saving on finishing. On the smooth (cemented) side of the DSP sheet, it is possible to apply a paint layer without priming, especially since the adhesion is excellent.
  • In terms of cost, DSP boards are quite competitive with other sheet facing materials, with favorable strength indicators.

The disadvantages of DSP boards include:

  • Sheets have a significant mass, up to 200 kg, depending on the thickness. When working on the upper tiers, you cannot do without lifting mechanisms, which gives a certain rise in price. Mounting heavy plates at height is also difficult.
  • The service life is not very long - in contact with the external environment no more than 15 years. Manufacturers guarantee fifty years of operation only under normal humidity conditions, which is far from always realistic.
  • Thin, from 8 to 36 mm sheets of DSP with a large area - about 4 m2 and weight cannot but have some fragility. Working with DSP is not so easy, accuracy is required. Plates may break during installation.
  • Sealing joints and seams between DSP sheets is not possible with any material. Sealants are recommended that can mask the seam, provided they are flexible in the presence of moisture. Putty compositions that have stiffness properties after setting cannot be used for sealing joints, this can lead to deformations of boards operating under atmospheric conditions and to a reduction in their service life. Rubber-based sealants are considered the best option for DSP.
  • DSPs are hygroscopic, and linear expansion during facade cladding is inevitable. The plaster of the facade on the DSP without reinforcing mesh and protection of the DSP from moisture rarely cracks after five or even less years of operation. In case of installation errors - insufficient fasteners or frame and work in humid conditions, DSP sheets can go in “waves” and even come off the fasteners. Sometimes experts recommend protecting the DSP from external moisture under plaster with damper layers of polyurethane foam, with fasteners on clamping rondolas (or other types of dish-shaped fasteners). This option requires elaboration in terms of fulfilling the vapor permeability condition for external walls. The dew point in winter should not be allowed to fall on the inner plane of the DSP.

Transportation and storage of DSP

It is required to provide protection from atmospheric influences, long-term storage is possible only in horizontal laying, but DSP is transported in the “on edge” position.

Installation and surface finishing with cement-bonded particle boards (DSP)

Installation and surface finishing with DSP plates is carried out in the following order:

  • Before fixing the DSP sheet with self-tapping screws to the frame or base, it is required to drill holes for the self-tapping screws, while the DSP sheet must have a solid support along the plane (it is impossible to drill the DSP "on the fly").
  • Vertical cladding and cladding are usually made with slabs 16 mm and 20 mm thick.
  • The most economical and fastest type of finishing on DSP is painting with acrylic, latex or silicone-based compounds. Compensation gaps in the joints of sheets are obligatory.
  • DSP sheets are characterized by a very smooth surface, no porosity. Priming on the cemented sides of the sheets can be omitted, provided that the DSP is not operated in a humid environment.
  • The sealing of seams and joints of the DSP is possible with sealants that mask the seams, and wooden, plastic or metal strips are used for finishing. Such a finish is used to imitate half-timbered facades, and in particular, due to the excellent smoothness and geometry obtained when facing DSP, the appearance is simply perfect. The “picture” of the half-timbered house is quite realistic and has its own charm.

For leveling under finishing, DSP sheets are considered one of the best materials, due to good rigidity and ideal smoothness of the sheets. Finishing and leveling with DSP boards give excellent results. Finishing materials can be paint and varnish, plaster mixtures, facing tiles, wallpapers of any type, natural and artificial linoleums, laminates, cork, soft materials such as carpet and others.

Cement particle board is a high-quality and safe material that is actively used in modern construction.

We'll talk about what it is suitable for, what materials it can replace, and most importantly, how to use it.

DSP is a building material with a unique structure.

Cement-bonded particle boards consist of crushed needles shavings, which are notable for their small thickness, but impressive length.

The length may vary. A characteristic feature is that at the edges the chips are located along the plate, and inside - across.

This primarily affects the strength characteristics.

Advantages of cement particle boards

DSP can be used in areas of high humidity, as well as in conditions that are characterized by a dry climate.

However, this is not the most important advantage of the material. Among the other advantages it is worth highlighting:

  • versatility. DSP is universal, both in carrying out external repairs and in performing work on finishing the premises inside the house;
  • high rates of thermal insulation. If we, in which heating is not planned, will be kept warm in the house in the spring and autumn;
  • cement particle boards are easy to install;
  • does not require complex processing, is sold ready-made (due to this, it is not necessary to observe proportions, add impurities, thereby increasing your own chances of error and damage to materials);
  • Bacteria do not multiply in the CSP. The environment that is created in the pores of the material, although safe for humans, is unfavorable for microorganisms;
  • can be finished in any way, using any materials (paint, paste over, plaster, and so on);
  • no flammability. This can be achieved due to the fact that CSP contains cement;
  • climate and temperature conditions do not affect the structure of materials;
  • DSP is not interesting for pests;
  • does not contain formaldehyde and other toxic substances that continuously have a negative impact.

As a rule, DSPs are sold in certain sizes. In total, there are 7 dimensional options that differ in length, width and thickness (and, of course, in weight, respectively).

Where is cement particle board used?

The way the slabs are used directly affects the material. It is important to understand that there are two types of DSP: rough and smooth.

They can be applied:

  • for flooring;
  • creating a warm floor;
  • as partitions;
  • DSP can be used as fixed formwork;
  • sheathe a frame house;
  • room finishing.

A little about smooth… This type of slab is great for interior decoration. It is comfortable, easy to install, covered with almost any type of interior decoration.

When it comes to wallpapering, it is easy to prepare a DSP for this. In addition, the wallpaper adheres well to the tiles.

Similarly, DSP is used to create . The floor will be smooth, warm, reliable. If you sheathe both the walls and the floor with slabs, you can get an almost even room.

By the way, the use of this material is also typical for the bathroom, since even plates are usually impregnated with a special substance that protects the coating from moisture. No matter how humid the air, the plates do not deform.

DSP board with a rough surface is used outside the rooms of the house.

With its help, you can decorate the walls, leveling them and finishing to taste. Plates are used to form a roofing cake, formwork, in the construction of structures with a deliberately small load when used.

By the way, sandwich panels are also made of DSP. This material is suitable for creating paths, paths, which, again, will not withstand heavy loads.

Cement particle boards are also suitable for creating furniture, large warehouse structures, and erecting fences.

Cement particle board partitions

DSP can be used to create partitions. What is the advantage of these boards compared to the so popular drywall?

The latter is not resistant to moisture, and it does not retain heat, and the sound transmits perfectly, which can be called a rather negative moment.

In combination with DSP with mineral wool or fiberglass, sound insulation can be increased several times.

It lends itself very well to cutting, which is a plus in places where pipes and wiring pass.

Finishing the room with cement particle boards

Along with a rich choice of the scope of the plate, one can note the particular popularity of using it indoors.

Cement-bonded particle board (DSP) is a universal sheet building material. It is made from crushed wood chips and Portland cement with the addition of special substances that reduce the harmful effects of one material on another.

The technological process of its manufacture looks like this: a three-layer “carpet” is formed from the raw mass prepared in the mixer (small chips are placed in the outer layer, large chips inside).

On the conveyor line, it goes to a hydraulic press, where it is subjected to high-pressure molding. The output is a perfectly smooth multilayer plate.

The use of cement-bonded particle board in construction is extensive: it is used for wall cladding both indoors and outdoors, when facing columns, as a screed for flat roofs and floors, and also serves as an external screen for ventilated facades.

Today, CBPB has become a serious competitor to building materials such as fibreboard, plywood and drywall.

Like all building materials, cement particle board has its pros and cons.

DSP is an environmentally friendly material that does not contain toxic substances such as phenol and formaldehyde. In addition, this material:

  • - frost-resistant;
  • - fire resistant;
  • - moisture resistant;
  • - soundproof;
  • - non-rotting (due to the calcium hydroxide contained in the plate, the development of fungus and mold is excluded);
  • - resistant to longitudinal deformation (can be used for sheathing the frame of multi-storey buildings);
  • - well combined with wood, metal, polymers;
  • - easy to process (can be cut, sawn, drilled).
  • – technologically easy to install (facilitates construction and does not require extra costs);
  • - suitable for all types of finishes (plaster, wallpaper, tiles, painting).
  • - large weight and dimensions complicate the installation of cement-bonded particle board on the upper floors of the building, special lifting mechanisms are required;
  • - relatively short service life (with active contact with the external environment - 15 years).

Standard DSP sheet dimensions:

  • length - 2700, 3200, 3600 mm;
  • width - 1200, 1250 mm;
  • thickness - 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 24 mm (can be up to 36 mm);

The weight of the sheets varies from 36.5 to 194.5 kg, depending on the size of the sheet.

DSP boards are manufactured in accordance with GOST 26816.

Features of installation and finishing of DSP

Slabs should only be stored in a horizontal position and transported on edge. You need to fasten the sheet at least at three points with self-tapping screws, having previously drilled holes for them on a solid surface. The recommended sheet thickness for vertical cladding is 16-20 mm.

It is necessary to work with cement-bonded particle board carefully (the large weight and area of \u200b\u200bthe sheet make it brittle).

The easiest way to finish DSP boards is to paint with acrylic or silicone-based compounds, leaving deformation gaps between adjacent sheets. Since the surface of this material is smooth and non-porous, the application of paint is allowed without prior priming (on the cement side of the sheet).

The use of putty for sealing joints is not allowed. A good option for "masking" the seams is a sealant - this material does not crack, expanding and narrowing under the action of precipitation.

In addition, the connecting seams can be closed with metal or wooden planks.

DSP boards are one of the best materials for preparing the base and creating a perfectly smooth surface for finishing. It is equally well suited for both outdoor and indoor use, taking into account the subsequent application of materials such as plaster, paint, ceramic tiles, wallpaper, linoleum, laminate, carpet, etc.

Compared to analogues, the cost of cement-bonded particle boards is quite competitive. It depends on the size and quantity of the ordered material. On average, for a standard sheet (2700x1250 mm, thickness 10 mm), sellers ask for 700-900 rubles.

Approximate prices for plates of other "running" sizes look like this:

  • 2700x1250x12 mm - 800-1100 rubles.
  • 2700x1250x16 mm - 1000-1200 rubles.
  • 2700x1250x20 mm - 1200-1400 rubles.

Sheets with a length of 3200 mm will be more expensive by an average of 5-10%.

From the point of view of practicality and design, the finishing of the facade with brick-like DSP slabs is very interesting. It gives the building a presentable appearance with a minimum of labor costs. The price of such panels with a size of 3200x1200x10 mm is 2200-2600 rubles.

You can verify the correct choice of this material by reading the reviews of those who have already used DSP sheets for repair and construction. Practical experience and important nuances of handling them will be very useful to you.
