Rating table of ranked battles. Ranked battle

First, let's tell you when - World of Tanks update 9.18 will feature a new “Ranked Battles” mode. The point of this mode is that all players will be divided into groups according to their personal rating in their profile. Tankers with the same personal rating will fight each other in “ranked battles.” The ranking system for tankers for WOT was borrowed from Blizzard and its Starcraft 2 project, where MMR has recently been introduced to all players. Depending on the MMR level, gamers are divided into leagues - Grandmaster, Master, Platinum, Gold, etc. Each league is divided into 3 groups - Tear 1, Tear 2 and Tear 3. Thus, by playing “ranked battles” you can move up the steps of glory. The same system will be introduced into World of Tanks gradually.

"Ranked Battles" - a new mode for World of Tanks

As soon as the “ranked battles” mode gains popularity, all players will be assigned its indicator and level, so that they can immediately assess how successfully a particular tanker fights. Every 3 months, statistics on “ranked battles” will be reset, giving everyone the opportunity to try their hand again in the new season. The result of each season will be recorded in the player's statistics.

For the successful implementation of the “ranked battles” mode in World of Tanks, a limitation on the level of equipment will be introduced. At the time the mode launches, these will only be level 10 tanks. Teams of 15 vs 15 tanks will fight for individual rank.

After the “ranked battle” takes place, your contribution to the team’s victory will be reflected in a special table. As Olga Sergeevna (pictured on the right) reported, the outcome of the battle in any ranked battle will not affect the result in the table. The higher you go in the “ranked battles” table, the more difficult your opponents become. Top players in the Ranked Battles mode will receive rewards at the end of each season.

As for the idea of creating a ranked mode for World of Tanks, it is focused on the e-sports component and the competitive effect that fuels interest in WOT as a whole.

Ranked battles are seasonal competitions where the strongest tankers compete, and the best of the best receive well-deserved rewards.

The "Ranked Battle" mode is based on the rules of Standard Battle and is available only for Tier X vehicles. The balancer of this mode selects participants with equal levels of gaming skill into teams. Based on the results of battles, players are awarded a rank, which can then be increased by winning battles and earning chevrons.

Features of the mode

You can participate in Ranked Battles only using Tier X vehicles. To quickly find a suitable tank, use the filters on the vehicle panel in the Hangar.

Ranked battles follow the familiar rules of Standard Battle:

  1. Battle format: 15×15.
  2. Goal: capture the enemy base or destroy all enemy equipment.
  3. Duration of the battle: up to 15 minutes.
  4. The list of maps is determined before the start of each new season

Players are selected for a team by rank, which they receive for effective combat actions in Ranked Battles.

By default, your team and the enemy team only include players of the same rank. If this is not possible, then the balancer creates two teams with players of different ranks, but in the same proportion: the number of players of each rank in both teams is equal.

Ranked battles are only available during a certain period, called a “season”

Leaders of the season

The most experienced and skillful players are included in the rating table of Ranked Battles, which is called “Season Leaders”. Your position in the ranking is determined by the number of rank points: the more points you earn, the higher your position.

The number of points required to get into the rating table is determined before the start of each new season

At the end of the competition, the first 50% of the season's leaders are distributed across three prize leagues. The remaining 50% of players do not make it to the league.

Final League Rewards

Ranked battles 2019

In the new season of ranked battles, the gameplay has changed significantly. The progression system has been reworked and the mechanics of gaining experience have been improved, making everything fairer and more transparent. One thing remains unchanged: the player, as before, will be able to receive many rewards and additional prizes, including a unique Tier IX car

Reworked progression system

Ranked battles are divided into three consecutive interconnected seasons, each with a lot of rewards and bonuses. To help you achieve high results, we have completely redesigned the progression system, dividing it into four divisions.

Each division consists of 15 ranks. Progression across divisions is consistent, starting with qualifying and ending in the first. You cannot drop out of the division. After completing them all, you find yourself in one of three leagues: Bronze, Silver or Gold. A specific league is determined by your combat effectiveness (the ratio of the number of chevrons received to the number of battles fought).

  • The top 20% of players will end up in the Golden League, which is the hardest league to get into.
  • The next 30% of players will play in the Silver League.
  • The remaining 50% will fall into the Bronze League.

The first thousand players to enter the leagues from the divisions are “sprinters”, those who were able to show outstanding skill. They will receive seasonal rewards as for the Golden League, regardless of their position at the end of the season.

In the new season, we have reduced the number of chevrons required to reach the next rank. This makes gaining ranks easier, but does not remove all the difficulties from the mode.

Accelerating progress

To speed up progress, a new mechanic was introduced: bonus battles. This is analogous to the first victory of the day: the number of chevrons received will be doubled (two instead of one, four instead of two).

Prize fights will be awarded as a reward when advancing through divisions. The number of battles depends on your effectiveness in the division.

If you have a bonus fight and you lose, this bonus fight will not count and you can try again.

Role-playing experience

Much of the feedback on Ranked Battles focused on the distribution of combat experience. And here we have improved something by introducing a role-playing experience system. It takes into account the peculiarities of the game use of individual tanks and rewards with experience for effective actions within the gameplay role of a specific vehicle.

Here's how it works using heavy and medium tanks as an example:

  • Close range fighters (Maus, IS-7, WZ-111 model 5A) will earn experience by blocking and dealing damage at a distance of less than 300 meters.
  • Medium tanks (M48A5 Patton, E 50 Ausf. M) will receive additional experience for dealing damage to the enemy in the circle of vision (according to their intelligence), as well as for blocked damage.

Acting out your role and earning role experience is important. But don't forget that you are part of a team and your main goal is victory!

Disabling damage to allies

To prevent players from being distracted from the game, damage to allies and their destruction by shooting and ramming have been disabled. However, artillery will still be able to stun allies, for which they will receive an experience penalty.

Seasonal Rewards

Here's what awaits you:

  • Loans
  • Gold
  • Unique styles depending on the league (for being in a certain league at the end of the season).
  • Additional rewards

For completing each division and entering the league, you receive ranking tokens. The more tokens you accumulate, the more valuable reward you will receive at the end of the year:

Final award after three seasons

  • Honorable Mention. Issued for 3 rank tokens. Contains a small amount of valuable in-game property.
  • Standard reward. Issued for 7 rank tokens. Contains a standard amount of valuable in-game property.
  • Increased reward. Issued for 10 rank tokens. Contains a unique Tier IX vehicle and a large amount of valuable in-game property.
  • Maximum reward. Issued for 15 rank tokens. Contains a unique Tier IX vehicle and the maximum amount of valuable in-game property.

For a long time, players have been asking to add the opportunity to test their strength and compete with players of equal skill levels. And today we announce: soon ranked battles will appear in the game! Truly great battles are coming!

What are ranked battles?

Ranked battles will be held exclusively on Tier X vehicles and will be divided into seasons. You'll get a great chance to show what you're worth in 15 vs 15 battles! The greater your contribution to the victory, the higher you will appear in the special table of ranked battles.

At the same time, victory will not be the most important indicator: your contribution to the outcome of the battle will play a more important role. And if, despite all your efforts, your team is defeated, you can still move up the ranking ladder.

This means that your place in the ranking battle table depends solely on you! As you move up the ladder, both the stakes and the strength of the enemy increase.

In addition, the selection of an enemy also depends solely on your position: in a special queue of random battles, the balancer will select players exclusively with the same rank. And, if you show outstanding results in battle and during the season, pleasant rewards await you.

Interview with the developers of Ranked Battles

My name is Anton Pankov, and today my colleagues - and I will help them with this - will tell you about ranked battles.

The idea of making ranked battles arose from the completely natural need of people to fight each other and not encounter either too strong or too weak opponents. And we decided to finally try to make so-called competitive content for high levels, i.e. ranked battles mean that people will only play them at the 10th level of technology.

This is a goal setting for those who have already leveled up and want to stand out from the rest of the players and show that they are really cool. The gameplay is a repetition of our standard “Random Battle” mode.

We specifically took it because it is what the players love, what the players know. This is something that will be absolutely clear and familiar to everyone. That is, as soon as you press the “Battle!” button, you will immediately understand what is required of you, what you need to do, there will be no differences.

This mode is initially made for, roughly speaking, single players. You won't even be able to play in a platoon in ranked battles. We want this to be a mode in which your personal skill, your skill level, how much you understand your car, plays a decisive role. Those. The higher your rank, the more difficult it will be for you and the more interesting it will be to play.

And the most interesting thing is receiving awards, i.e. The better your progress, the more rewards you will receive.

What ranks are there?

Rank is an abstraction. In general, we thought for a long time about what rank would be in tanks. The basic concept is generally simple. Rank is what helps distinguish one person from another.

The ranks are sequential, i.e. The more and better a person plays, the higher the rank he receives. We decided that the ranks would look like unique shoulder straps, and like military shoulder straps, the number of stars on the ranks would differ.

And we basically got one small star, two stars, three, four and one big one like the general’s. Whether you gain a rank or lose a rank, and in general how well you perform depends not only on you, but also on your team.

It seems to me that this contradicts the very concept of ranked battles. The whole point is that you come and show: “I play great, guys.” Yes, maybe I got into a team now, well, in which there are not necessarily bad players, well, we didn’t play well, or maybe someone went into battle on a technique that he doesn’t know well, well, there could be many reasons, why they lost, especially in equally intense battles.

But what's great is even if you ended up on the losing team, but you performed great, you made frags, did damage, the first three places, sorted by experience earned for the battle, they also get a step - we call it a chevron - on the way to the next one rank.

And accordingly, we thereby give the opportunity to players who perform really well to advance in the ranks, regardless of which team they are on. Well, those who win, of course, those who won, those are great.

Rewards for ranked battles

When receiving a new rank, the player will receive a reward. Naturally, this award will not be taken away from him in the event of a possible loss of this rank. That is, in our case, in simple terms, these are leagues. That is, this is exactly the indicator of dividing players by skill: the higher, better your rank, the higher your skill.

And, accordingly, depending on the ranks, a matchmaker will also be built. That is, for example, if you have the third rank, then you will mainly play with guys who also have the third rank, or you will periodically be thrown a little higher with guys of the fourth rank or from the second, and so on.

In our case, ranks are leagues. There are combustible and non-combustible ranks. That is, the player cannot lose the first and last - fifth rank. The player can lose the rest if he fights ineffectively.

Vehicle ranks

After reaching the fifth rank, a new activity becomes available to players - earning vehicle ranks. Their properties are similar to standard ranks. The only thing is that they do not participate in balancing.

Those. We continue to balance the player taking into account his fifth maximum rank. But for each such rank, the player continues to receive rewards, and he also continues to earn special points that help him rank in the ladder table.

And only those players who will be at the top of this table will receive the biggest and most interesting rewards. If we talk about rewards, in addition to the standard ones: experience, credits, boosters, intermediate rewards in the form of consumables, which will be given for moving from one rank to another, we have prepared several special rewards.

Equipment instructions

We will give out rewards in boxes. Something from a predetermined set falls out of the box, but no one knows what exactly. There is an element of chance here. What new things might come out?

Firstly, a new currency may appear. , and with this currency you can buy one of two types of new rewards. The first type of reward is our new consumables. They are called Instructions.

Equipment instructions work on the principle of improving the equipment installed on a player's vehicle. For example, a rammer will be installed on the player’s tank, which gives -10% to the reload speed. Another -2.5% will be added to the installed rammer. So the player can end up with -12.5% reload speed.

Improved equipment differs from conventional equipment precisely in its increased characteristics. Let's say the same rammer usually gives 10% in reload speed. The improved one will give 12.5%. Accordingly, if you add the Instructions for the rammer on top, then all together it will be 15%, and this is just a fairy tale.

Improved equipment in booms will be expensive, and, accordingly, you will need to either save up diligently, leaving everything that was at the stages, and then earn something at the end of the season, or perform very well, get a bunch of booms at once at the end of the season and buy equipment for two or three tanks.

Patches

When playing the Ranked Battles mode, you will, of course, receive rewards, but you always want to brag about your progress, your achievements. Especially for this, we are introducing a new element of patch customization.

These are icons that the player can place next to his nickname, and they will be visible to everyone in battle. That is, it will be displayed in the “ears”, in the Tab window and when loading. Everyone will see your success.

The patches that we issue remain on the player’s account and do not disappear anywhere. So the player can always show them off.

Seasons and stages in ranked battles

Our seasons will be quite short. Within the seasons, we will have stages so that it doesn’t happen that people who spend much more time there, relatively speaking, they have an advantage because they have accumulated more fights, victories, defeats, it doesn’t matter.

They will be short enough and intense enough for all players to have the opportunity to take part in them and achieve certain ranks there. The season is, roughly speaking, a month. This stage is a week.

They may differ slightly, say, eight days, but the essence does not change. Every week we reset the results. That is, in a week you manage to reach, for example, the fourth rank, at the end of the week you receive a reward for this corresponding to the fourth rank, everything is reset.

You are rank zero again and are climbing up again. So four weeks. At the end of the season, we look at how many points a person has earned during the season. And this sum of points is compared with the same sum of points for each of the players who played Ranked Battles.

Ranked battle table

Based on this, we build a table. Conventionally: the top ten percent of players, another 15 percent of the best players, and the next 25 percent of players. Roughly speaking, this amounts to three leagues, each league receiving its own rewards.

We took into account quite a lot of mistakes from previous competitive modes, be it Ladder, be it Supremacy, or other various modes that appeared in the game in the past.

We made a certain number of conclusions, and, accordingly, now the functionality and the new mode are built on these conclusions, on our vision, we present.

A new mode and a new season of ranked battles only for the tenth levels, after many experiments, create something new but in the old way (perhaps this is ranking players by skill?).

Battles, as usual, will be carried out 15 tanks against 15 tanks, without platoons, pure skill. In ranked battles, the balancer will distribute players by Rank, equal rank versus equal rank, for the same conditions, but there will also be plus/minus one rank and this is normal.

Ranked battles 2019 – New season

Ranks in WoT

Such battles will take place in a standard format: 2 teams of 15 players. The peculiarity is that only level 10 tanks will participate in the battles.

The battle conditions correspond to the random battle mode: the team that completely destroys the opponents' tanks or captures the base wins.

However, this is where the analogy ends. The key feature of a ranked battle is personal results. The essence of the idea is as follows: by showing high performance in the game, tankers will move up the rankings, increasing their rank, receiving interesting awards and prizes.
If a tanker gets into the top 12 of the winners or the top 3 of the losing squad, he receives a chevron. Chevrons are the key to obtaining the next rank. To rise to the first step in the ranking and become the owner of the first rank, one chevron is enough, but then the conditions will gradually become more complicated.

It should be clarified that ranks 1 and 5 are kind of checkpoints that save game progress. Essentially, these are starting points from which players can move further in the ranking system.

Curiously, rank 5 is the maximum possible for an account. Having reached the top, the rank of the vehicle begins to increase. The same principle applies here: personal contribution to the outcome of the battle increases the rank of the tank.
You win in ranked battles, you progress and receive new ranks. Number of ranks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - rank.
You're losing — the first top 3 players of the losing team not only do not lose rank, but also continue to move up upon reaching the highest rank. The first and fifth ranks are non-combustible.
What to do if you reach rank 5 in World of Tanks? New opportunities open up for players, and vehicle ranks appear. The more ranks of cars you farm, the higher place you will take in the final table.

Season of Ranked Battles

Ranked battles are divided into seasons. Seasons of ranked battles were deliberately not very long - only a MONTH. Within the season, ranked battles are divided into stages. Where after each stage the results will be reset. At the end of each season, a table of the best players is formed - these are LEAGUES, there will be three leagues in total. The best players will enter the first league, those in the middle will enter the second league, and the rest will enter the third. All rewards in ranked battles will be awarded based on the results of the seasons.

The main reward for ranked battles will be special boxes containing boosters, credits, free experience, even in-game gold. A new reward in the form of BONKS has been added especially for ranked battles, which will give additional motivation to players. We worked to the smallest detail and took into account the experience of previous regimes.

For bonds you can buy two types of rewards:
— improves the characteristics of the crew, but only lasts for one battle.
— increased performance of conventional equipment installed on the tank. They will be very expensive and in BONKS.
Pre-battle instructions and advanced equipment can be used together to maximize the strength of the tank. In the future, the possibility of adding BONKS to other World of Tanks modes is being considered - it’s just a matter of time.

Changes in the economy. Ranked battles provide an additional funding system. Players are awarded a standard number of credits based on the results of the battle, plus financial bonuses are added for obtaining the next rank and completing special missions. Prize equipment and personal reserves are added to this. When the season of ranked battles comes to an end, participants are awarded bonds - a new monetary unit that cannot be purchased in the game store. Bonds are spent on the purchase of modernized equipment and “Pre-combat briefing”, which significantly improve the performance of the crew and the vehicle as a whole. The number of bonds awarded depends on the player’s performance.

In the future, there will most likely be new ways to earn BONKS, but for now, in update 9.19 it is planned that ranked battles will be the only way.

Bonds- new WoT currency, earned exclusively in the Republic of Belarus. Bonuses cannot be purchased, but can only be earned in the game, which are credited after the end of the season/stage. You can spend Bonuses on new equipment added in patch 9.19.

Improved equipment - increased performance of conventional equipment installed on the tank. They will be very expensive and in BONKS.

Improved equipment purchased with bonds, where you cannot use two identical equipment on one tank. Installed in slots with conventional equipment. The cost in bonds is high, and can also be removed for 10 gold units.

Pre-battle instructions - improve the characteristics of the crew, but only last one battle. Also, a new slot is added for additional BUFFS (pre-battle instructions), something similar to additional gold equipment that adds bonuses to equipment or crew, but only for one battle.
Pre-combat instructions - for equipment.
Increases the effect of installed equipment.
Pre-combat instructions - for crew.
It helps to upgrade a perk for one battle or improve an existing one, but you cannot get two effects at the same time.

Use all the introduced innovations for bonds for absolutely any class of equipment and level, for all types of battles.

Format and duration

Format

  • Ranked battles take place in separate seasons.
  • Battles take place in a 15x15 format (in the “Standard Battle” mode).
  • The duration of the battle is 15 minutes.
  • Victory conditions are the destruction of all enemy equipment or the capture of an enemy base.
  • The balancer is similar to random battles, but with additional balancing by rank.
  • Maps available in the mode: “Karelia”, “Robin”, “Himmelsdorf”, “Prokhorovka”, “Ensk”, “Lasville”, “Mines”, “Murovanka”, “Siegfried Line”, “Monastery”, “Westfield”, “Sandy River”, “El Halluf”, “Airfield”, “Fjords”, “Fisherman’s Bay”, “Polar Region”, “Highway”, “Quiet Coast”, “Tundra”, “Windstorm”, “Paris”, “ Industrial zone".
  • This mode cannot be played in a platoon.
  • The economy in the mode is similar to random battles.
Season
  • The first season lasts 21 days and consists of one stage.
  • The mode is available from February 19, 5:00 (Moscow time) to March 12, 5:00 (Moscow time).
  • The exact battle schedule will be available in the World of Tanks client.
Chevrons
  • Players finishing 1st to 3rd on the winning team receive two chevrons.
  • Players finishing 4th–10th on the winning team and 1st on the losing team receive one chevron.
  • Players finishing 11th–15th on the winning team and 2nd–5th on the losing team retain the chevron.
  • Players finishing 6th–15th on the losing team lose their chevron.
  • In case of a tie, both teams are considered losers.
  • If several players on a winning or losing team have earned the same amount of experience, then all these players receive or keep chevrons. The same scheme applies when players with the same amount of experience occupy the highest place.
  • If the battle is unsuccessful (the amount of experience earned is zero), the chevron is written off regardless of the outcome of the battle.
Ranks
  • There are 15 regular ranks available.
  • The 1st and 15th ranks are fireproof.
  • The number of chevrons in the first season required to advance to the next rank is as follows:
Ranks 1 2-4 5-6 7-9 10-11 12-14 15 chevrons 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Rank protection
  • If a player has protection at the current rank, he can retain his rank if he loses a chevron.
  • The strength of the defense is reduced if the player loses a chevron following a battle.
  • The first battle that the chevron brings will completely restore the defense.
  • At rank 5, the defense completely loses strength after three battles in which the player had to lose rank.
  • At rank 10, the defense completely loses strength after two battles in which the player had to lose rank.
  • At rank 13, the defense completely loses strength after one battle in which the player had to lose rank.
Balancer
  • The balancer strives to select teams from players with a difference of no more than two ranks. If this cannot be done, then the boundaries of the ranks available for selection expand.
  • Teams will always consist of an equal number of players of individual ranks.
  • The balancer does not take points into account when forming a team.
  • If within five minutes it is not possible to assemble teams for a ranked battle, then it is not created, and the players return to the Hangar.
Glasses
  • For each rank, one point is given.
  • For each rank point taken for a vehicle, one point is given.
  • Points are awarded only for the first rank achieved. If the player receives a rank again in the same stage, he does not receive points.
Rank points for vehicles
  • Upon reaching rank 15, the player has the opportunity to earn rank points for vehicles.
  • Rank points for vehicles can be obtained endlessly.
  • After receiving the next rank point for a vehicle, progress through chevrons begins anew at the same rank.
  • Rank points for vehicles are not tied to a specific vehicle - they are the same for all vehicles.
  • To receive the next rank point for a vehicle, you need five chevrons.
Leaders of the season
  • Ranking in the “Season Leaders” table is based on the player’s total points in the season.
  • If two or more players have the same number of points, the remaining parameters of the season are sequentially compared:
    • game efficiency;
    • average damage dealt in the mode;
    • average amount of experience (including premium account);
    • Average damage dealt using the player.
  • If all parameters match, the players will be placed in the league of the one who took the highest position.
  • The season leaderboard becomes available in the client and on the portal on February 19 at 13:00 (Moscow time).
  • If less than ten players are included in the Season Leaders table, the rating will not be generated.
  • The table is updated several times a day.
  • To be in the “Season Leaders” table, you must have six points earned during the season.
  • The season leaders are divided into four groups:
    • 1st League: top 10% of players.
    • 2nd League: next 15% of players.
    • 3rd League: next 25% of players.
    • Players who did not qualify for the season's leagues.
