Particularly marvelous in miracles is the marvelous saint of God - St. Nicholas, about whom we will speak.

Zaraisk White Well has been revered as a shrine for centuries. Orthodox people come and go to him from everywhere. In ancient times, a chapel towered over the holy spring. On the day of bringing the miraculous icon (August 11) to Zaraysk, as well as during national disasters, processions were made to the White Well. It is known that during the cholera epidemic in 1830, 1848, 1871, Zaraytsy went to the spring in a procession with the miraculous image of St. Nicholas. Any Orthodox Christian, who sincerely follows his religious convictions, should understand by an integral part of his beliefs a special spiritual church creation - an akathist. Nicholas the Wonderworker born into a deeply religious family, therefore, since childhood, it was determined that his life would be devoted to faith and service to God. Being in infancy, even then little Nikola began to show his miraculous abilities - after his birth, the boy's mother was immediately cured of illness, and when the Sacrament of Baptism was performed, Nikolai stood on his feet for about three hours without someone else's help, as if saluting the Great Holy Trinity .

Young Nikolai served the church with a burning soul, reading pastoral teachings, becoming famous beyond his years for his spiritual success. The wise and deep advice of Nikola was compared with the sayings of the elders, and aroused respect among the common people.

Adult Nicholas, having become a priest, continued to work for the good common people. He, as if only for the sake of this, was awake - helped everyone in need, hiding their good deeds on making general conversations. He did alms without demanding anything in return, spent long hours in tireless prayers for the sins of others. Striving for an isolated life, Nicholas made many pilgrimages to shrines, doing good deeds and bestowing his prophetic visions on believers, which saved many lives, preventing troubles.

Nicholas the Wonderworker lived many righteous years, having gone to God as a deep old man. In all corners of the Earth they know and honor the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the pious God's Helper, soothsayer and prayer book for everyone and everyone asking for help.

The whole meaning of this Sacrament is that for 40 days a single akathist is read.
