How to glue wallpaper on corners. Correct wallpapering in the corners of the room Cutting the wallpaper in the corners

Date: 05/13/2017

Many people who decide to make repairs in an apartment or house with their own hands believe that high-quality wallpapering will not be difficult for them. Yes, to some extent, this finishing material is quite practical, but only on flat sections of the walls, which cannot be said about the corners. How to glue wallpaper in the corners? This is the question that people who start repairing without professional help face.

It is in the corners that gluing is a laborious process, which makes it difficult and calls into question the quick completion of the repair. So you should approach this issue with all seriousness and study with scrupulousness all the nuances of such an operation, because poor wallpapering in the corners can generally ruin the whole look.

How to glue wallpaper in corners

Wallpaper is and remains the most popular finishing material for any kind of premises, whether it be a room in an apartment, an office, or a beauty salon. The quality of wallpaper varies, and you can find it for absolutely every taste, color scheme and cost.

Sometimes cheap nondescript wallpapers transform a room so much that they seem to be no worse than expensive ones, that is, now the range of wallpapers on the construction market is different, and there is a high-quality and at the same time cheap material - two in one.

Today, in order to glue wallpaper, you do not need to have professional skills, but you need to know the gluing system. The walls first need to be aligned around the perimeter, in the corners, and from here the problems begin for non-professionals.

Wallpapering in the corner

It is not recommended to glue a whole strip of material. In the presence of uneven corners, the strip lies in folds and does not converge with the other. We recommend leaving the protrusion behind the corner by 1.5 or 2 centimeters and then the strip will lie flat. Choosing a high-density wallpaper, use a plumb line. Glue a piece of trimmed wallpaper with a small gap to the adjacent wall so that it is as vertical as possible.

If there are switches, sockets in the corners or near them, turn off the electricity supply and remove the covers before gluing and any construction work. Glue the material completely onto the raised parts, and only then carefully cut, making small cuts.

When starting to pasting the wall near the door, it is important to know that the strip of wallpaper must be cut vertically before the frame starts. Then it is attached along the edge of the wall. Cut off wallpaper overhangs.

Preparing the walls

Wallpapering should be done according to the existing technology, observing the sequence of processes, as regards not only the corners, but in general the entire procedure for pasting walls with flakes.

List of the sequence of stages of finishing work for gluing wallpaper:

  1. Clean the walls from oil paint;
  2. If there is whitewash, then clean it;
  3. Remove deep irregularities, especially in corners;
  4. Carry out the preparatory work procedure. Surface priming.

It is better to prime the surface with professional products that are sold in containers of various prices, but can also be primed with diluted glue, but is not particularly welcome. A special roller or a wide brush will help you to prime the surface. Due to the fact that in the corners the pasting is especially difficult, there is such a nuisance as the displacement of the picture. On the walls, the geometry of the drawing has been preserved, but in the corners everything has gone and now spoils the general background. Therefore, the most responsible approach is to inspect the corners, if there are irregularities, eliminate them if any.

Preparing walls for wallpapering

Stage alignment of the corners of the wall

After you have pasted over all the smooth surfaces of the walls, you have to go to the corners. Now inspect, and noticing the irregularities, proceed to sanding - having carefully putty. After the putty has completely dried, it is necessary to sand the entire surface with sandpaper to achieve an ideal smooth surface so that the wallpaper does not come off in the future.

Now the corners also need to be primed. If you do not have the skill of filling, then there is a way out, just buy the same type of wallpaper, or with a simple pattern that does not require further docking (paper). So part of the question of how to glue wallpaper in the corners can be considered disclosed.

Corner glue application step

After leveling the surfaces in the corners, we proceed to applying glue, it must be distributed with all care along the height of the walls, and in the corners most conscientiously, because in these places the wallpaper most often peels off. Using a roller, distribute the glue along the entire length and with a brush in hard-to-reach places.

How to glue wallpaper in corners

Finally we got to the important part of the corner gluing issue. The pros of this case recommend sticking a piece of canvas in the corners, even if the whole piece is perfectly straight. This can be explained by the fact that there is a high probability of distortions in the corners, and the subsequent sheet does not fit at all, and after drying, folds can be found. Professionals of room decoration advise to cut wallpaper canvases so that the side passes to the next wall by 50 mm. Below is a drawing of wallpapering in the outer and inner corners.

Did you know: a nuisance for beginners in this business is the curvature of the gluing areas. Such a defect in the surface of the eyes cannot always be detected, therefore a list of tools will come to the rescue: a plumb line and the same building level. They measure the corners before gluing the wallpaper.

If there is quite a serious "blockage", then it is better to come to a method of "cutting" in these places. This method is used for dense wallpaper - vinyl.
According to this method, the material is passed 50 mm onto the adjacent wall around the corner, and the next sheet is glued with an overlap.
The next step: in the middle of the corner, a vertical cut through two layers of wallpaper is made with a special construction knife under a level or ruler in the direction from top to bottom.

The scheme of gluing wallpaper in the corners

Throughout the entire process, the iron ruler must fit snugly against the corner and be pressed tightly so that there is not the slightest movement. Otherwise, a shift along the cut canvas is ensured. Craftsmen recommend using a long metal ruler, a building level, which has more weight and a wonderful press that interferes with movement.

We glue the wallpaper in the inner corners

In order to avoid the appearance of folds in the inner corners, these canvases should be divided into two parts before gluing the wallpaper. The first step is to glue the material to the corner of the room, then you need to accurately measure the distance from the last glued piece of wallpaper to the corner bend, and fold the docking 10-12 mm to the resulting figure. Next, one prepared part is glued to the wall with a cut edge at an adjacent corner. Adjust the edges as usual, whether it's top or bottom.
Now, using a brush or a rag, press the wallpaper into the inner corner of the room. If irregularities arise, such as warping of the material, then take a special knife and make cuts, while pressing the wallpaper into the wall. Then glue the next part with an overlap on the glued material, pushing it tightly against the wall with a brush. Finally, cut off the remnants at the bend with the same knife.

Tip: If your corner inner and middle parts have small bulges, and the bottom is filled up slightly inward, it is better to press the cut edges with an overlap. When pasting a room with dense (vinyl) wallpaper, the best option is to use glue with a transparent base at the joints, this glue is suitable for dense materials.

Methodology for pasting outside corners of a room

Gluing the outer corners of the room requires calculating the length of the wallpaper in advance, and so that the canvas is not enough, but he could bend around the convex part of the wall from 21 to 25 mm. When glueing dense quality wallpaper, know that by making light cuts, for smooth styling of the strip.

How to glue wallpaper in the corners correctly

So, on dense wallpaper using an iron ruler and scissors, cut off excess strips of material, leaving a minimum of edge, the visibility of which will not be visible under the next canvas. On top of everything, the next strip is glued with an overlap of 5-6 mm. If you have chosen a smooth wallpaper, then immediately iron it with a roller, and with a convex pattern, voluminous ones can be passed quite lightly with a rag.

Applying wallpaper with a pattern in the corners

The vertical pattern of the wallpaper makes it difficult to stick in the corners, because distortions are especially noticeable in these places. A pattern with a horizontal position is no exception, for example, after gluing it can be completely skewed. To avoid such incidents, it is necessary to make a small overlap on the adjacent wall and hide the joint at the top of the corner.

Tip: the difficulty of wallpapering the corners is to follow the rule - the edge lay flat along the plumb line, and the other should be cut along the edge of the corner.

A non-professional will not be able to glue the wallpaper and at the same time without the pattern shift without experience. The main thing is to make it less noticeable using the instructions provided above.

Renovation of an apartment, house or office takes a lot of time and effort, as well as money if you decide to seek help from hired workers. But thanks to the instructions given to you above and following them exactly, you will be able to start your own decoration, having devoted time and attention to the study of gluing wallpaper in the corners. Pay attention to the presence of defects, whether your walls are even, and carry out preparatory work to eliminate irregularities. In addition, batteries and pipes often pass in corners, interfering with the gluing process, making repairs a hassle.

If you approach this task responsibly, taking into account all the recommendations and rules, then you will expect quite a wonderful result, no worse than if the gluing was carried out by a professional team of craftsmen. By completing the finishing work with your own hands, you will significantly save money. Good luck and a good completion of your home renovation!

How to glue wallpaper in the corner - video review

Wallpapering in the corners is the most difficult one. Here, both the material itself and a properly prepared plane are important. We will consider how to glue wallpaper in the corners in this article. Specialists' recommendations will also be given. On the video and photo, you can see and understand everything yourself.

For perfect results, without cutting the wallpaper at the fold, the corners of the room should be even. In such a situation, all the work will consist in processing the walls and wallpaper with an adhesive composition with further pasting.

However, finding a room with perfectly flat, geometrically correct characteristics is very difficult, even one corner will spoil the overall picture.

What will affect the work:

Smoothness of walls This is the most important indicator. It is necessary to immediately measure the level of the wall and its deviations. After all, it may look even, but as you move from one wall to another, a skew will become noticeable, which will increase from one strip of wallpaper to another. The drawing will begin to shift towards the corners, and will look crooked in relation to horizontal surfaces.
Wallpaper pattern If you have a lot of corners in the room, then look at the choice of the coating pattern. After all, no coincidence will be reflected in the appearance of the plane.
Grip quality Always prepare your base well. After all, if this is not done, the wallpaper will not fix well and may lag behind.

Possible problems and subtleties when pasting wallpaper on corners

An important point when performing this type of work is the material from which the selected wallpaper was made. Different materials behave differently during the decal process. And doing the work with your own hands you need to know these subtleties.

The instruction in this question will be as follows:

Without the addition of auxiliary layers, the most demanding.

If you are dealing with them, all actions should be as prompt as possible.

The paper web is quickly saturated with the liquid from the glue, and if you forget about it for a while during work, it will creep into pieces.

On the contrary, it is necessary to allow sufficient time after the application of the adhesive for a better impregnation.

But some types of vinyl wallpaper have a fairly thin pattern spray, so you can press them against the wall only with a rubber roller.

Do not forget to pay special attention to the corners, the adhesion of the wallpaper to the wall in these places should be maximized.

do not require adhesive treatment on the back.

In this case, only the walls are coated, and the corners are impregnated twice to achieve the highest bond strength.

Note: The overlap depends on how dense the material is. For example, if glass fiber is used, the strips are glued joint to joint. Even a slight overlap will be noticeable.

How to glue wallpaper to an inner corner

The main purpose of wallpapering is to prevent “wrinkles” from appearing in the corners, and the wallpaper sheets themselves do not disperse.

So:

  • To prevent this from happening, the canvas is wound up so that a grip of no more than 2 cm is formed on the adjacent wall. In this case, it is necessary to take into account how uneven the angle is, and the stronger the curvature, the more allowance is left. The edge is pressed against the wall with maximum force. In the case when wrinkles begin to form on the strip, it is necessary to make neat cuts with scissors, cutting the canvas, heading towards the fold.
  • The next step will be the implementation of the markup, along which the next strip of wallpaper will be applied on the adjacent wall. From the allowance of the first strip that entered the second wall, measure the distance of the width of the wallpaper sheet with a decrease of 5 mm.
  • Then, using a level, a vertical line is drawn on this section of the wall. Upon completion of the marking, the next sheet is glued. In order for it to be perfectly aligned, a reference point is taken on the drawn line.

How to glue wallpaper to an outer corner

Wallpapering on the outer corners has its own problems, but it is quite possible to avoid them if you act professionally.

Attention: In order for the wallpaper to fit perfectly on the outer corner, the point from which the sheet will go is determined so that its edge goes around the corner by 3 cm.

  • The edge of the sheet is pressed against the wall with maximum force. In the case of folds, as well as when working with inner corners, small cuts are made.
  • Along the edge of the sheet, you can tear off a thin strip of wallpaper so that only a delicate edge remains. This method allows the seam to be trimmed more neatly and will make the overlap less noticeable.
  • After that, using a level, a value equal to the canvas and increased by 0.5 cm is marked from the corner. Along the line obtained, the next sheet is glued in such a way that its edge overlaps the torn edge of the previous sheet.
  • The joint is pressed through with maximum effort, the upper and lower edges of the wallpaper are trimmed using the trimming method, after which the sheets are rolled with a rubber roller.

How to glue wallpaper with a pattern in the corner

When the wallpaper has a pattern with vertically spaced stripes, the corners will be most visible if it is distorted. And with horizontal lines, the pattern will be disturbed, it will be visible when approaching the floor and ceiling plinths.

Avoiding problems like this is simple:

  • Do not forget to leave an overlap on the next wall;
  • hide the resulting joint at the top of the corner;
  • glue the wallpaper in the corner of the room so that the edge of the canvas lies perfectly flat with the line drawn in advance. In this case, the second edge is cut to the edge of the corner.

It is rarely possible to completely avoid distortion of the picture; minor errors are likely to remain. But only you will know about this drawback. Indeed, to find it, you will have to carefully study all the corners in the room. Subject to all the rules, the wallpaper will be perfectly even, and the pattern will not be disturbed.

The most common beginner mistakes

First of all, let's look at how you don't need to glue wallpaper. Most often, beginners can see the following errors:

  • Poorly prepared surface. The level of difficulty of pasting the junction of planes depends on their quality. If the apartment has curved corners, then it will not be easy even for a specialist to finish it with high quality.
    Of course, it is not always possible to make the wall joints perfect, strictly at 90 degrees, but there should be no deviations from the vertical. Therefore, spare no time and effort to prepare the surface - plaster the walls or even plaster;

Plaster corners will help you quickly and easily align the external joints of the walls. During installation, they are leveled, after which they are glued with plaster or putty. The price of the corners starts from 30 rubles per 2 meters.

  • Wallpaper cutting. As a result of such a decision, the edges of the canvases may diverge or vice versa - unevenly overlap each other, respectively, the gluing looks sloppy. Therefore, according to the technology, it is necessary to provide a small turn-up on the adjacent plane.

An exception is paper webs, which can be cut vertically. The only thing, in this case, you first need to glue a thin strip of wallpaper on the wall joint in case the joints disperse;

  • Big bloat. If the joints of the walls are even, then such a mistake is not terrible, but in curved corners a large twist will lead to the strip deviating from the vertical. As a result, all subsequent canvases will be glued crookedly;

  • The canvases are not fully glued. When gluing the canvas, many beginners do not push it all the way, as a result of which a small area located opposite the inner corner hangs in the air. This leads to the fact that over time, the coating begins to peel off and even tear;
  • Poor glue applied. If wallpaper is glued on a non-woven base, then the glue is applied to the surface of the walls, not the canvas. In this case, the mistake is to work with a roller, which does not always allow you to completely smear hard-to-reach places.

Beginners are often interested in - from what angle to start gluing wallpaper? If they are all even, then it does not matter where you start gluing. Otherwise, start gluing from an even angle to avoid skewing the stripes on the walls.

Gluing technology

As you know, there are two types of angles:

Each of their types requires their own approach when pasting, therefore, further we will separately consider the process of gluing wallpaper to the outer and inner corners.

Internal

The sticker instructions are as follows:

Illustrations Description of actions

Surface preparation. Beginners often priming the walls with their own hands only with the help of a roller, however, as in the case of glue, it is difficult to process the corners with high quality with this tool. Therefore, after priming the walls, be sure to "walk" over hard-to-reach places with a brush.

Glue application. If non-woven wallpaper is glued, as mentioned above, the glue is applied to the walls, not the canvas.

Bonding.
  • The canvas must be cut in width so that the curl on the adjacent wall is about one and a half centimeters. In uneven corners, the curl can be increased up to 5 cm;

If you are gluing meter-long non-woven wallpaper, and you had to cut a wide piece of strip, you can start pasting the adjacent wall with it, if, of course, the pattern allows.

  • Then you should push the canvas with a spatula so that it fits snugly against the walls;
  • If wrinkles appear, the edge must be trimmed across, i.e. towards the fold.

The strips on the adjacent wall must be overlapped with the edge. In this case, the canvas is aligned with the markings (vertical line), and not the edge itself.

This completes the gluing.

Outdoor

Now let's look at how to stick this finishing material on the outer joints of the walls yourself:

Illustrations Description of actions

Surface preparation. As in the previous case, the surface must be primed and glue applied if the canvases are vinyl on a non-woven base.
Bonding:
  • Position the strip so that it overlaps the adjacent wall by 30 centimeters;
  • If the edge begins to wrinkle, cut it lengthwise so that the curl is no more than 5-10 mm.

If the wallpaper is patterned, with such a small twist, it may be necessary to trim the edge of the second canvas in order to dock the pattern.

Many people are wondering - how to protect the wallpaper on the outer corners? For these purposes, there are special decorative corners that are glued over the finish.

Using a rule or a metal profile and a plumb line, the most protruding point of the adjacent wall is found. It is important that the profile is close to the wall and must be kept strictly vertical.

The angled spatula must be applied to the point found, and the profile must be attached to the spatula. Use a plumb line to check that the profile is strictly upright, then make notches on the wall for the dowels.

Then, using a puncher, drill holes in the wall, install the dowels and fix the profile with self-tapping screws.

The next step is to apply the putty to the corner that has been pre-moistened with water. Putty is applied using an angled spatula and an even angle is formed; excess gypsum must be removed.
When the layer of putty is dry, it is sanded with zero sandpaper.

Method number 2.

A special metal or plastic perforated corner is installed in the corner, to the edges of which a mesh is attached. Kontrashultz is mounted strictly vertically and fixed with a putty applied to the mesh. When the putty is dry, it must be sanded.

Using these leveling techniques will help prepare a perfectly level wallpapering surface in the corners.

How to glue wallpaper in corners

When gluing wallpaper, you will inevitably face the need for pasting the inner and, possibly, outer corners. The choice of the method of pasting is influenced by the type of corner, and not by the type of wallpaper. It should be noted that the methods below are applicable only for plain wallpaper.
Let's figure out how to stick wallpaper in the corners of the room.

Outside corners

Modern interiors rarely have external corners, mostly internal ones. But if you still have to paste the outer corner, then recommendations on how to glue the outer corner with wallpaper will probably be useful.

Sequence of gluing the outer corner:

  1. Prepare a canvas so wide that it goes around the corner by a few centimeters.
  2. Glue the strip of wallpaper and the surface to be pasted over with glue.
  3. Stick the trellis to the wall and carefully align. This is necessary to remove air gaps.
  4. Bend the strip to the other side of the corner. If wrinkles form on the surface, a small incision can be made.
  5. Step back 0.5 cm from the edge of the corner and make strictly vertical markings using a plumb line and a pencil.
  6. Apply glue to the next sheet and glue it with an overlap, having previously aligned it along the line.
  7. Using the guide, cut the middle of the connected canvases with one cut.
  8. Remove the cut strips and roll the seam with a rubber roller.

Internal corners

The most suitable method for gluing inside corners is overlapping. The width of the sheet should exceed the width of the wall at the junction with the corner by 2-4 cm. Then the sheet is glued and a vertical strip is drawn on the strip at a distance of 5 mm.

The edge of the next sheet should line up with the vertical line when gluing. In the case when the seam is invisible, you can proceed to further pasting the walls. If the seam protrudes, make an incision and make it butt, removing the extra strips.

How to glue wallpaper with a pattern in the corners

The wallpaper joint in the corner can be practically invisible if the canvases with a clear geometric pattern or the wall blockage does not exceed 2 cm vertically.

However, you need to try to keep the pattern shift as small as possible. Below are the professional recommendations on how to achieve this:

  1. Cut off and docked according to the pattern with the extreme glued sheet, place the trellis on the floor with the pattern side up.
  2. Measure the distance from the edge of the last sheet to the top and bottom corner.
  3. The difference can be up to several centimeters.
Mark points on the spread sheet with a pencil or small cuts. It is important to make a note of where the top or bottom is.
  4. Add 5 cm to the obtained dimensions and cut off a piece of wallpaper of the required width.
  5. Dock the sheet of wallpaper with the cut sheet and overlap, overlapping the minimum point from our measurement.
  6. The part that overlapped the mark must be trimmed. Cut the sheet to length.
  7. Coat the sheet with wallpaper glue and glue it end-to-end with the last sheet, glue the overlap at the final stage. It is necessary to exclude the formation of folds by working out the corner and seam.
  8. We draw several vertical lines with a plumb line, at a distance from the corner to the edge of the sheet. The step between the lines is 5 mm.
  9. Coat the next sheet with glue and fold it for impregnation.
  10. Stick the canvas in such a way that the central pattern matches perfectly. We glue the wallpaper, smoothing it towards the corner, focusing on the vertical lines.
  11. Along the resulting overlap, cut the connected parts using a metal profile and a sharp knife.
  12. Remove excess strips and roll the joint with a rubber roller.

How to glue non-woven wallpaper in corners

The technology for gluing non-woven wallpaper in the corners is quite simple and the methods described earlier are applicable in this case. However, it is necessary to take into account a number of nuances when pasting walls with this type of wallpaper.

  • Do not try to cover both sides of the corner with one sheet. There is a possibility of wrinkling.
  • Non-woven wallpaper is always glued back to back.
  • When gluing non-woven wallpaper, the glue is smeared only on the wall.

How to fix seams in corners

Quite often, there are situations when, after pasting the wallpaper, the joints between them become visible. Let's find out how to close up the corners of the walls after gluing the wallpaper so that the joints are not visible.

A checkered or striped pattern will easily hide the seams, even if they are visible. The joints will be noticeably visible on plain wallpaper.

If you plan to paint the wallpaper, then the joint at the corners can be masked with a special sealant that can be painted in the color of the wallpaper.

Often, seams occur on paper wallpaper. To avoid this, they must be glued on immediately after applying the glue. Otherwise, the shrinkage of the canvases will occur and tears cannot be avoided.

Tile grout of the same color can be applied to the joints between the wallpaper at the corners. You can also use a marker or pencil.

Moldings or special panels will help to make the wallpaper more attractive and hide the joint at the corners of the wallpaper; paper borders are a more budget option.

Rough corner technology

  1. Purchase wallpaper with a neutral pattern that does not require joining along the edges of the panel. The drawing probably does not match, which will look very unaesthetic.
  2. Give preference to wallpaper on a non-woven basis, because they stretch perfectly, do not get wet, do not tear and are able to hide minor wall defects.
  3. Use a little trick - glue the uneven corner in two layers. Glue a strip 8-12 cm wide under the main trellis. This is necessary in order to fill the gaps formed when cutting the outer layer.
  4. You can use a paint net to reinforce the corner and mask small depressions.
  5. The spade can be trimmed with a herringbone pattern to align the spade. The overlapped strip will hide the cuts.

Other features of pasting corners

Pasting the corners with wallpaper won't be a daunting task if you take note of the tips from the decorators.

  • Prime the corners thoroughly. Instead of a special primer, you can use wallpaper glue applied several hours before starting work.
  • Apply adhesive in the corners only with a brush to avoid unwanted gaps.
  • Heavy and thick wallpapers are glued with a special transparent glue.
  • Smooth out the wallpaper in the corners until all air gaps have disappeared.
  • Carefully move the edges of the sheets after cutting the seam and coat them with glue, because the adhesive mass will be removed along with the removed scraps.

The use of roll materials for surface cladding is a popular and demanded solution that allows you to achieve a high-quality result in a short time. But the finishing technology has some nuances. It is especially difficult to glue wallpaper in the corners: the resulting coating should be free of distortions and defects. The most suitable method is selected depending on the situation.

The existing varieties have a certain order of wall cladding, which allows you to achieve the best result.

Vinyl

The technology for working with this option is not very difficult if all the processes are performed correctly.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. The place is being prepared. For convenience, the material is rolled out onto a clean floor or a suitable table with the pattern down.
  2. Trimming is carried out taking into account the allowance of 100 mm. If the coating has a complex pattern, then the scheme indicated by the manufacturer is used.
  3. The canvas is processed with glue and folded in half for better penetration.
  4. The composition is applied to the wall with the capture of areas beyond the width of the roll.
  5. The strip is laid on the base and smoothed well.
  6. It is taken into account that standard and meter-long vinyl wallpaper on a non-woven base can only be glued end-to-end, the overlap will spoil the look.

The vinyl layer on the canvas is strong enough, so the wallpaper can be safely smoothed with a wallpaper spatula, without fear of damaging the integrity

On a note! In the absence of experience and the need to fit a complex pattern, it is better to prepare: for this, the strips are placed on a horizontal surface, aligned with each other, and the size of the necessary fit is noted.

Paper

The gluing of this variety is rarely difficult. For the process, you can use any glue, including one prepared by yourself.

Algorithm of actions:

  1. Marking is carried out according to the width of the roll using a level and a plumb line.
  2. The material is dissolved into stripes, depending on the pattern. For this, a technology is used that is similar to working with the vinyl version.
  3. The canvases are well coated with the prepared composition and folded.
  4. After surface treatment, pasting is carried out. Surplus is trimmed.
  5. Most often, paper products are overlapped, but stripes can also be joined. It is taken into account that after drying, the canvas will become narrower, therefore a special paper tape is placed under the seams. This rule applies to other types of wallpaper as well.

It is impossible to pull the web at the joint by force, the connection is leveled exclusively with a rubber roller

All processes, especially smoothing, are carried out with care, because even multi-layer products are very easily damaged.

Non-woven

To glue this variety, a special version of the glue is used, since the material is quite heavy. The preparation of the binder is carried out strictly according to the instructions and is applied only to the wall.

Process diagram:

It is important to properly saturate the base: do not leave dry areas. Places beyond the width of the canvas are necessarily affected.

Advice! To speed up the process, the composition is best applied with a roller.

Additionally, we suggest watching a video, where the process of gluing non-woven wallpaper is considered.

How to properly wallpaper the corners

The technology of laying canvases on the outer and inner corners is different.

External

These areas are the most visible, so they must be pasted over with great care. It is easiest if the angle is perfectly even, but this is quite rare.

In the presence of defects, the process becomes more complicated. If the corner is filled up, then you will need to trim the canvas along the bend line in order to impose one section on the adjacent one. This method is not suitable for varieties with complex patterns.

There is another way:

  1. The strip is glued to a section of the wall.
  2. Using a special spatula, the material is carefully smoothed into the existing bend, forming a transition.
  3. If required, part of the laid sheet is torn off, after which the excess is driven up or down. There must be a margin on both sides.
  4. To adjust the pattern in case of skewing, the next strip is overlapped until the pattern is aligned with an indent from the edge of 5-10 centimeters.
  5. With the help of a ruler, which serves as a stop, the superimposed canvases are cut exactly according to the pattern.
  6. If required, the abutting areas are additionally coated with the composition.

Docking the outer corner with a trim on one of the adjacent planes is considered the most effective way of arranging

This method does not completely correct the skew, but makes it easier to further adhere and fit.

Interior

The technology for working with such a site is almost identical to the previous process, but has some nuances:

  1. All sides are well processed with wallpaper glue. If the composition is applied to the canvases, the impregnation must also be thorough enough.
  2. Laying starts from the wall from which the movement is carried out. The first fragment is aligned with the previous one, and the corner smoothing is carefully performed. For this, the waves are driven in one direction with a rubber spatula.
  3. The part that hits the adjacent wall is slightly pressed.
  4. Further actions depend on the situation. Most often, you need to cut off the existing folds in the middle and superimpose the excess on top of each other.
  5. To achieve a better alignment, the edges are shortened and smeared, after which the segment is located on the main part of the canvas.

Technically, joining the inner corner is not much different from similar work on external structures, but this process is considered easier, since the inner corners are visually less noticeable

This technology allows you to glue different types of products, but if the corner does not involve trimming, the installation is carried out in a standard way. For this, the joint of both sides is made with a margin in order to level the unevenness by fitting and cutting at the place of combination. This will take longer, but will remove the overlap in the corner.

Video tutorial: how to glue wallpaper with trimming in the corners

Docking wallpaper with a pattern

Work technology:

  1. The strip is laid on the initial part of the wall and gradually spreads over the surface. Waves are driven towards the corner.

What to do if the joints are crooked

Perfectly even corners in rooms are rare, therefore, to eliminate various problems, you can use the recommendation that many designers use - a combination. It is necessary to glue the transition from wall to wall with wallpaper with a pattern or with bright colors. Part of the pattern should go to the adjacent side, where it is trimmed at right angles and aligned with the solid material. The joining line will turn out to be smooth, and the existing shortcomings will not be conspicuous.
