How to clean your computer to keep it quiet. What to do if your computer makes a lot of noise

Computer noise is tiring and interferes with concentration. Even if you are used to monotonous noise, it may bother other members of your family. It is almost impossible to make your computer silent, but we will tell you how to reduce the noise of the fans, reduce vibration and minimize extraneous sounds in the system unit.

Foreword

Before talking about the causes of the noise, here are two tips for placing and caring for your PC:

1. Do not place your computer in a hot place. For example, near a battery, heater, or in direct sunlight. In a stuffy room, the cooling system will be forced to operate at maximum speed, which will generate noise.

2. Regularly clean the system unit from dust. And the most important thing, which is rarely talked about, is to keep the room clean. Then you will have to do the cleaning less often.

Let's list the possible sources of noise in descending order: from the most perceptible to the least significant.

CPU cooler

As a rule, this is the main violator of silence. If the processor fan hums, you don't need to try to fix it. After an unsuccessful repair, it may stop altogether. In this case, the processor will overheat and may fail.

In many system units, CPU coolers are buzzing not because they are out of order, but because of poor quality. Such ones make noise from the moment of purchase and, as a rule, do not cool well.

When choosing a CPU cooler, it is definitely not worth saving. You should purchase a fan from reputable manufacturers. We recommend Zalman. By purchasing a quality cooler with a good heatsink, you will spend more money, but you will get reliability and silence in return.

From our experience, we can say that after replacing cheap coolers with heatsinks with high-quality ones, the CPU temperature in idle state often dropped from 60-65 to 30-35 degrees Celsius.

Cooler graphics card

Replacing a cooler on a video adapter can be problematic if it is proprietary (non-standard). Here you have to select the most suitable size and screw it into the old radiator. There are universal coolers on sale with a set of fasteners of different sizes.

If you installed the cooler on a video card, where it was not previously (silencer) and connected it to the power connector on the motherboard, then you can lower its speed by using a resistor or replacing the 12V wire with 5V.

Adapter with a resistor to reduce the speed of the cooler

Power Supply

Despite the fact that almost all models use 120mm fans (which are considered quieter than 80mm), power supplies also vary widely in terms of noise factor. Some of the quietest and highest quality products are Chieftec, Thermaltake, AeroCool. But before buying a power supply unit, we advise you to carefully study its technical characteristics and clarify the declared noise level in decibels.

Additional cooling of the body - blowing in or out

In cheap cases, the blower fan can be the loudest of all. And the most annoying thing is that it often makes more annoying sounds than good. If air circulation in a low-quality Chinese case occurs "at random", then additional coolers will not really correct the situation. We advise you to turn off the additional cooling of the case, compare the temperature difference between the nodes before and after, and decide whether your system engineer specifically needs this.

Rattling and vibration

Both the case itself and the radiators can rattle. Cheap cases have thin, curved walls and often do not fit snugly. The best thing is, of course, to purchase a high-quality case. But if you do not want to spend money, you can try to solve the problem by modifying the "box". Examine the system unit and try to find out the source of the rattle. If the side cover on the back of the motherboard rattles, glue a foam or rubber backing to it.

It also happens that the entire body vibrates. An unbalanced processor fan is often the cause. Such a comrade needs to be replaced without options.

Cooling the motherboard chipset

Universal Titan fan for installation on a chipset or video card

The chipset fan usually does not make a lot of noise, except for a situation when it is out of order. The moral is the same here: if a cooler has worn out, it is better to replace it. Lubrication will not provide long-term results. You will only waste precious time, but in a few weeks you will hear that terrible roar and crackle again.

HDD

The noise of the hard drive is not very loud, but it can be just as annoying. The best solution to this problem is installing an SSD. It has no mechanics and therefore works silently. As a bonus, you will receive a tangible improvement in system responsiveness. So at this point, the solution is extremely simple. There would be money to buy a solid state drive.

If this option does not work for you, install rubber spacers between the mounting bolts and the chassis basket. Immediately, we note that usually they are not able to remove the resonance completely.

You can also unscrew the hard drive from the basket and place it on a soft base. It is important here that its material and shape allow air to circulate under the storage tank. In general, this is a specific budget option. But this way you can eliminate the problem of resonance from the HDD mechanics throughout the case.

DVD + -RW / Bluray

We will mention the optical disc drive purely symbolically. First, they are rarely used anymore. And secondly, if the drive works, then not all the time. So this is probably not such a problem. Here you can advise to use a flash drive. It will be quieter and faster.

We hope these tips will help you to reduce the fan noise and minimize extraneous sounds on your PC.

What to do if the fan (cooler) is noisy? - You often come across this question. Before answering this question, I propose to consider why the fan (cooler) is making noise. There are two reasons that contribute to the fan (cooler) noise.

The first reason is the dust deposited on the cooling radiator.

The second reason is the wear of the fan itself.

Fan noise due to dust settled on the laptop heatsink

Typically, the cooling fan is connected to the radiator, which in turn comes into contact with the cooling object, through the layer. In such cases, dust deposited on the cooling heatsink is a source of fan noise.

The fan on the laptop is noisy. Why is the fan making noise?

Inside a personal computer (system unit), many different fans are installed (we will consider how to find a fan that is noisy below), what can you say about a laptop, the cooling system of which is designed in such a way that one fan cools all devices at the same time (I don’t I've seen a laptop with several cooling fans in the case).

The internals of the laptop are cooled with a fan and which fits tightly to devices that need cooling for stable operation (such as a processor, graphics chip).

Perhaps earlier, when your laptop was new, you did not notice how the cooling cooler works, but over time, the dust that has settled on the heatsink's honeycomb cannot pass the air flow through itself in full, and the fan has to "strain" to maintain temperature of devices, by increasing the speed of rotation thereof.

Over time, the fan noise can increase, and if you do not clean the laptop cooling system from dust in time, you will have to carry it to a laptop repair service center. And believe me, the cost of repairing a laptop will cost several times more than performing a preventive one.

Solution. Fan noise in a laptop can be eliminated by cleaning the cooling system from dust and lubricating the cooling fan, and remember blowing the cooling system is only a temporary way to eliminate the cause of overheating.

The fan in the system unit is noisy. How to find a cooler that is noisy.

In the case of the system unit, it would seem easier, there is no need to disassemble it as in the case of a laptop (apart from removing the side case cover), but there are many fans inside and it is more difficult to determine which fan is making noise. But do not despair in this, a cotton swab will help you if you are afraid to stop the rotating cooler with your finger.

To do this, you need to turn on the system unit with the lid open, and stop the fans in turn in order to install the causal fan, which emits an increased sound during operation.

The cooling system of a computer is similar to the cooling system of a laptop in terms of the fact that the cooler is installed on a radiator, which, in turn, adjoins the cooling device through thermal paste. And dust settled between the heatsink and the cooler can also be a source of increased fan noise.

To eliminate noise, clean the heatsink from dust and lubricate the cooler. Use silicone grease or household machine oil for lubrication, never use sunflower oil, it is not intended for this purpose.

If after cleaning the radiator and lubricating the fan, it still makes noise, then replacing the fan is inevitable.

Makes a lot of noise fan. Replacing a worn out fan

When the fan noise is caused by wear on the fan bearing, replacement of the fan is inevitable. A worn-out fan is characterized by strong noise, which is accompanied by wear of the bearing, radial runout of the impeller against the elements of the cooler case appears. There is no need to wait for your fan to stop, the fan should be replaced.

A guide to reducing noise from a laptop, netbook, computer and other similar devices. The manual also describes how you can extend their service life.

General information about noise, what makes it and why you need to reduce it

The overwhelming majority of current technology makes a variety of noises during operation. They are very different: clicks, thin squeak, hum, and so on. Let's first figure out where they come from, what publishes them.

The most common source of noise is the cooling fan. The faster it rotates, the stronger and higher in tone the hum from its work. If the fan has a worn bearing, the hum becomes much stronger due to the imbalance of the impeller with blades. Dust build-up on the blades also increases noise levels and accelerates bearing wear.

The second source of noise is the optical disc drive and hard disk drive. The optical disc drive is making a loud hum. The higher the rotational speed of the disc and the less balanced it is, the stronger the hum. Winchester also emits a hum, but it is much quieter. Also, the hard drive makes clicks from time to time. This is because there is a magnetic head unit inside the hard drive. He moves very quickly, in jerks. This is how the clicks are made.

So we went through the main sources of noise. Now let's figure out why it needs to be reduced.

The most obvious reason is that noise is annoying and interferes with work. Few people enjoy working on a device that hums like a vacuum cleaner. Plus, many people leave laptops and computers overnight to download. Excessive noise interferes with sleep.

A less obvious reason is increased component wear. It is quite logical that if the fan spins faster, then the bearing that holds the impeller with blades will wear out faster. Not everyone will like the prospect of changing the fan every 1-3 years. The story is similar with the hard drive.

Why reduce the noise figured out. It remains to find out how it can be reduced. This is the topic of this guide. First, let's look at how to reduce the fan noise, and then how to make the hard drive clicks quieter.

Reducing fan noise

Important notes on disassembling a laptop:

  1. Before disassembling the device, we must disconnect the battery and the power supply;
  2. When disassembling, it is highly advisable to use an antistatic wrist strap and mat;
  3. In addition to bolts, plastic parts of laptops are often held in place by snaps. You need to be careful with them;
  4. In many laptops, access to the fan involves separating the halves of the laptop base. They are usually held together by bolts on the bottom of the laptop. On some models, bolts under the keyboard hold them in place. To remove the keyboard, you often need to slide the latches at the top into the case. How to do this is shown in the article: How to remove the keyboard. Acer Aspire laptops;
  5. Bolts in laptops are different. They can differ both in length and in diameter. When disassembling, somehow remember or write down which bolt you unscrewed from.

These are the main nuances. Do not be alarmed, in fact, there is nothing complicated about it.

Our goal is to get to the fan. Unscrew the bolts:

and remove it:

Next, you need to remove the impeller itself with blades. In some cases, it can simply be removed, and in some, to remove it, you must first remove the lock washer on the other side of the fan. This washer is often found under the plug. Let's take a look at this whole process using a typical computer fan as an example. In laptops, the fan has a completely similar design. First, remove the sticker over the plug, and then the plug itself:

We handle the sticker carefully. We still need to stick it back on.

This is how we got to the retaining ring. It fits into a groove in the shaft and has a small radius cut. Pry on with something sharp and carefully remove:

So we removed the impeller:

Now you need to thoroughly clean it with a napkin or cloth from dust:

After that, the old grease must be removed from the impeller shaft and from the fan bearings. For best removal, it is recommended to use alcohol or other solvents. If you decide to use acetone, then it should be borne in mind that not all plastics tolerate it normally.

After removing the old grease, you can proceed to applying a new one. In our case, it is best to use bearing grease. When choosing a lubricant, it is worth considering the number of revolutions per minute. For our purposes, lubricants are suitable, which are designed for a rotational speed of up to 5-10 thousand revolutions per minute. Some greases have protective and restoring properties and are able to compensate for minor wear on the fan bearings. You can easily find them in auto parts stores.

If you do not find the above lubricants, then you can use silicone, synthetic, mineral, machine oils. Since most fans do not have full oil seals to keep oil in the bearing, it is not recommended to use oil that is too thin.

In this example I used Hado protective grease. We lubricate the bearing and the fan shaft:

At the same time, you can clean the laptop radiator from dust and other debris. In a not particularly neglected case, it may look like this:

Naturally, in order to somehow pump air through this lump of debris, the fan must rotate faster and make more noise. In this case, the wear of the fan bearing is also much higher. After cleaning, the radiator looks like this:

Now you can put everything back together. If after a while the fan starts humming again, this indicates a strong wear of the fan bearings. It is necessary to replace either the bearing itself, or buy a new fan. It can be found by its model number (located on the back of the fan) in various online auctions. You can also contact the service center.

Let us now consider how to lower the noise level of the hard drive.

Decrease the volume of clicks of the hard drive

Another source of noise is the hard drive. As mentioned above, clicks when quickly moving the block with magnetic heads. Therefore, to make the clicks quieter, you need to reduce the speed of movement of the hard drive heads. Slowing down the head movement will have a positive effect on the lifespan of the hard drive. However, there are also disadvantages: with a decrease in the speed of movement of the heads, the search time slightly increases. For most tasks, this will not be noticeable.

Let's see now how you can reduce the speed of movement of the head block. Fortunately, everything has already been invented for us. Hard drive manufacturers have invented a function such as: AAM. By changing the parameter value AAM, you can increase or decrease the speed of movement of the heads.

Several utilities are available to change this parameter. The simplest and most convenient of them is quietHDD(/). Download, unpack and run this utility:

At the first launch, the utility checks if the value can be changed AAM and APM... Right-click on the utility icon near the clock. In the menu, select Settings:

In the settings, go to the tab AAM Settings and move the sliders to the left. The top is in charge and the bottom sliders allow you to control AAM while the laptop is plugged in or on battery power.

You can also go to the tab Manual Settings for testing, move the slider AAM left and press the button Set AAM Value:

In the tab Misc. Settings check if there is a check mark next to Enable AAM Control:

Click on Apply

We check if the utility is working. Click on its icon with the right mouse button and look at the top line with AAM:

The AAM value really dropped to 128, the hard drive started to work a little quieter.

There is one more small touch left. To make the hard drive work less noisy (with a lower value AAM) it is necessary for this utility to work in the background. You need to add it to the startup list so as not to turn it on every time you turn on the laptop.

To do this, first create an application shortcut to Desktop, and then we transfer it to a folder in the menu Start:

That's all. Thank you for the attention.

  • When extraneous and sometimes loud sounds are observed in the computer, then this should be given importance in a timely manner, probably cooler noise, the hard drive is cracking or the BIOS is giving certain signals about a hardware failure. When noises are observed in the cooler, the situation is almost always fixable and can be eliminated without serious financial costs.

    Why is the cooler making noise?

    A cooler is a plastic fan that is installed on a radiator of heating elements, in particular, microprocessors. Thanks to its work, it is possible to efficiently remove heat and the processor can work normally, which cannot be achieved with certain malfunctions in the cooler. When the cooler makes a lot of noise, you must first determine the cause, and then proceed to solving the problem.

    So, there are several reasons for the noise:

    1. Pollution... The most common problem, its characteristic symptom is noise, which was caused without any intervention in the computer. At the same time, the user does not know why the noise is observed, since everything was in order before. When a large amount of dust and dirt accumulates on the cooler, it gradually loses its quality characteristics and starts making noise, clinging to the edges of the case. The problem is fraught with the fact that the blades will be damaged: broken, unevenly worn, which will lead to an imbalance of the device. In another case, constant mechanical impact prevents the normal movement of the cooler, and it stops, which leads to overheating and failure of the power supply, processor, video card;

    1. Grease... The cooler, like all rubbing parts, contains grease; it uses a silicone type. The oil should be added periodically, otherwise it will dry out sooner or later. Another case is when a person too often adds lubricant to the fan and from this it clogs up. In some cases, WD-40 is used, which is categorically not suitable for this purpose (although many claim that it works, you will have to lubricate it every 1-4 weeks), you should buy a special silicone oil;

    1. High speed cooler... In a normal situation, the computer independently determines at what speed the fan will turn. Some experts set parameters when the number of revolutions is always maximum, respectively, and noise occurs, as well as unproductive energy consumption. The user will simply have to lower the number of revolutions or turn on the automatic adjustment;
    1. Incorrect housing attachment. Usually coolers are installed on the case of the system unit or laptop, as well as on the processor heatsink. If the fasteners are loose, rattling will become noticeable, and, accordingly, certain problems with the performance of the fan and the quality of heat dissipation;
    2. A large number of coolers... New computers are increasingly equipped with coolers due to high performance and strong heating. If you have 5 or more active cooling systems in a case, then you shouldn't count on a low noise level, although it's worth checking if the situation can be improved somewhat.

    It is worth noting that the noise increases under heavy load on the PC, for example, when running games, demanding applications, and this is the normal behavior of the computer.

    Decontamination and lubrication

    So what to do when the cooler is noisy? The problem is that we do not know if the cooler is making noise on the processor, in the power supply, video adapter, etc. Before starting the cleaning procedure, it is necessary to determine which cooler is emitting an unpleasant noise.

    In the case of a laptop, everything is somewhat simpler, it does not provide a large number of fans, so the noise comes, almost always, from a visible device that is behind the bars, usually on the bottom or on the sides of the PC. But the laptop is more difficult to clean.

    For a stationary computer, everything is somewhat more complicated, almost always there are at least 3 active cooling systems in it. To determine the culprit of the unwanted sound, it is enough to stop each cooler in turn by touching the hand and check for the presence of noise. The first step is to start from the fact that the fan stops on the central processor, then the video adapter and, ultimately, on the power supply.

    So, in order to eliminate noise, the devices should be cleaned and lubricated, consider the example of a stationary PC:

    1. Turn off the computer and disconnect power from the system unit;
    2. Remove the side cover, usually the one on the left;

    1. There are several options here:
    • If there are noises from the central processor, you need to unscrew 4 bolts along the edges of the case with a fan and remove it, but first disconnect the cable from the motherboard (you don't need to disconnect it). On one side there is a sticker that must be carefully peeled off. In order not to bother, you can simply pour a few drops of silicone oil into the hole. It is necessary to clean the blades with a brush or brush, also remove dirt from the body and radiator;
    • When the noise comes from the video card, you need to clean it. It should be noted right away that coolers rarely get clogged, since they are most often located at the bottom of the board, although not always. The first step is to disconnect the video adapter by unscrewing the bolt that secures one of the sides to the frame. You may need to remove the protective cover from the device. Often the cooler mount is under it, you have to take a small screwdriver and insert it between the blades, unscrewing the bolts. Remove the connection cable and peel off the sticker. Clean off dirt and drip oil;

    • Power supply noise is the most common cause of deviation. The main difficulty is that it is necessary to disassemble the block case. First of all, unscrew the 4 bolts holding the power supply together with the case (do not confuse with the cooler mounts). Then carefully remove it and unscrew 4 more bolts connecting the 2 parts together. Now unscrew the fan itself. Clean it with a brush and grease.

    1. Carefully clean the system unit from dirt in other places, otherwise the cooler will soon clog up again;
    2. Now collect and connect everything back;
    3. You can start up your computer and enjoy quiet operation.

    There is such a nuance here that a lot of used oil can accumulate inside the cooler itself, which thickens and blocks its free movement. Then you will have to completely disassemble and clean the fan by prying the small retainer in the hole under the sticker.

    On a laptop, things are ambiguous, as each model has distinctive parsing methods. In order to get to the cooler, it is better to look at the corresponding disassembly instructions, and cleaning and lubrication is the same as on a PC.

    How to reduce the speed in the cooler?

    If the cooler in a laptop or a stationary computer is noisy, then a simple decrease in speed may come in handy.

    The easiest way is to go into BIOS and set the Q-Fan Mode value to standard. You can also use reobass, programs, for example, SpeedFan. The use of reobass is rarely justified, since you have to reach for it all the time, but you can adjust the speed at any time. The application configures itself directly from Windows.

    Take care of your computer, and it will work for a long time and efficiently!

    If you still have questions on the topic "Why is the cooler making noise and what to do in this case?", You can ask them in the comments

    if (function_exists ("the_ratings")) (the_ratings ();)?>

    Most computers are equipped with an air cooling system. This means that its parts are cooled by air currents generated by fans. Sometimes trouble happens and there is a disturbing noise. In this article I will tell you about why the cooler in a stationary computer and a laptop makes a lot of noise, and how you can get rid of it.

    You can often come across advice that if the cooler makes a lot of noise, you need to reduce its rotation speed using special programs or through the BIOS. However, I would not recommend this to inexperienced users. A decrease in speed can lead to overheating of parts with their further lethal outcome and expensive repairs.

    Reason 1. Dust in the cooling system

    If the cooler makes a lot of noise, then open your computer and take a look at the dust that has accumulated there. It is she who is most often the cause of noise. So, the dust deposited on the fan blades changes its centrifugality, from which it begins to buzz. In addition, if dust interferes with the cooling airflow, the cooler has to spin faster to keep the parts cool.

    Dust from a desktop computer or laptop can be removed with a small vacuum cleaner, hair dryer or brush. You can also use a cotton swab moistened with rubbing alcohol to remove old, hardened pieces of dust.

    Be careful when cleaning dust. The computer should be disconnected from the power supply at this moment. You can not make rough movements so as not to damage anything inside. When using alcohol, do not allow it to get on the boards. After treatment with alcohol, the computer can be turned on only after 10-15 minutes.

    Reason 2. Unlubricated cooler

    If the cooler makes a lot of noise, the reason may be in the fan itself. If cleaning the dust does not help, then lubricate the bearing with oil. You can use machine oil for this.

    To lubricate the cooler, you cannot use automotive oil or vegetable oil, and even more so petroleum jelly.

    In order to lubricate the cooler, you can use a syringe with a needle or cotton swab. In most cases, you do not even need to remove the fan itself, but simply peel off the decorative sticker in the center - from here you can access the bearing.

    Reason 3. Broken bearing

    If the fan bearing is worn out, it will make noise. As a rule, concomitant symptoms are an off-center position of the cooler, and rubbing of the blades against its body when rotating.

    In this case, if the cooler makes a lot of noise, that's still good. In the worst case, it will stop and everything will overheat. Therefore, it is better not to wait for this and just change the fan.

    The same reason can be attributed to cracks in the fan blades. If you find them, you will also have to change the fan. True, this rarely happens.

    Reason 4. Poorly fastened parts

    It is possible that it is not a cooler that makes noise in your computer, but something else that gives in to vibrations from the rotation of the cooler. For example, if a hard drive or disk drive is not properly secured to the system unit, then it will vibrate and make an unpleasant noise. A similar situation can be if the screws are poorly tightened in the case or laptop parts.

    What is there to say. It happens that a cactus in a pot, placed on the case of the system unit, begins to vibrate so much that it interferes with work.

    What noise is normal and what is abnormal

    If the cooler makes a lot of noise, then first understand how much it is.

    • The fan noise should sound like a small draft. A little noise is normal.
    • If the cooler makes a lot of noise during games or when running some heavy programs, then this is normal, since the processor experiences more loads and the fan starts spinning faster to cool it (although it will not hurt to clean the dust if you haven't done this for a long time) ...

    And remember that the system unit is more noisy than any laptop. So, if your friend with a laptop has almost no noise, then do not rush to look for problems in your system unit - it should make more noise.

    How to find out which cooler is making noise

    With a laptop, everything is simple - in the vast majority of cases there is only one fan. But with a stationary computer it is more difficult - at least two fans: on the processor and in the power supply. And maybe more.

    If the cooler in the system unit makes a lot of noise, then in most cases it helps to simply open the case, listen and understand the direction of the excess sound to find out the source. If this does not help, you can try a risky method - gently and briefly (for a moment) stop (slow down the rotation) of each of the fans by pressing on their center with your finger. However, this can be dangerous for the iron, so just try to listen.

    When the faulty cooler is found, proceed with the treatment.

    In this article, we will tell you what to do if the laptop heats up, makes noise, and periodically turns off.

    In recent years, ordinary users are increasingly abandoning the use of desktop computers, opting for laptops. This is due to the fact that the laptop is more compact and mobile, and its performance does not lag behind a standard PC.

    In turn, such a device has a specific structure, which is characterized by a number of disadvantages. First of all, this is a strong heating of the case during operation, accompanied by intense noise. There are many reasons for these problems, and you need to fix them in the shortest possible lines. More detailed information about this is presented below.

    What to do if the laptop gets warm?

    The presence of various kinds of distortions on the display of a working laptop, excessive heating of the lower part of the case, as well as extraneous noise are alarming signs and indicate the presence of an internal malfunction. Such problems must be eliminated as soon as possible, otherwise there is a high probability of overheating of the processor, graphics adapter and other parts, which can lead to their complete inoperability.

    The laptop can overheat for two reasons:

    1. Your laptop is clogged with a layer of dust, which also causes a lot of noise and heating of the entire laptop system.
    2. There is no thermal paste on the central processor, or it just dried out and dried out.

    But nevertheless, we note that both cases involve the disassembly of the device.

    Dry or missing thermal paste on the processor and adapters

    Thermal paste located on the coolers of the video card and the central processor. It must be replaced with a new paste using a plastic card. If you have not performed such actions before, it is better to ask for help from specialists, since the replacement procedure is specific.

    The outer part of the fan is clogged with a layer of dust

    Dust formation is usually associated with the active operation of coolers. It often builds up on the cooling grids and makes it difficult for the air to pass through. Therefore, it is advisable to remove dust regularly.

    The hard drive has become unusable

    Continuous operation of the notebook in some cases leads to the appearance of clicks that are not typical for its operation. These are symptoms of a broken hard drive or malfunctioning cooling radiators.

    In most cases, a hard drive failure requires its replacement, since the resource of such devices is limited. Shocks and mechanical damage also negatively affect the condition of the disks and sometimes can even lead to their complete inoperability.

    Fans (cooler) clogged with dust and debris

    If the source of extraneous noise is a cooler, it is necessary to check whether debris or foreign objects have fallen into the housing, and whether the grease on the bearings has dried. Accordingly, you need to lubricate the bearings with a specially designed compound and carefully clean the housing.

    What should I do if I find abnormal noise on my laptop?

    • If the slightest signs of a device malfunction appear, promptly eliminate their cause.
    • If it is not possible to clean the device yourself, contact the service center for help.
    • Monitor the health of the CPU, video card and hard drives. Ensure their repair in time in cases of frequent heating and other malfunctions.

    Well, this is where we will probably end our article today.

    Are you familiar with the situation when extraneous noise comes from the system unit? This is not only unpleasant, but it is always a warning that some part of the system unit may soon fail. It is necessary to get rid of this phenomenon as soon as possible, so that the sound does not irritate the hearing, and the performance of the computer does not decrease due to increased wear of the parts. Offering a detailed understanding of the problem, why the computer is noisy and what needs to be done to get rid of the excessive noise during its operation and return the computer to its original operating mode.

    The main causes of computer noise

    Computer noise is not as noticeable during the day as it is at night. Imagine that you need to work or just relax by watching a movie or pages on the Internet. Agree to do it with strange sounds emanating from the system unit is not entirely pleasant, and sometimes even irritating. Therefore, I will now talk about the main malfunctions that lead to the appearance of strange sounds from the computer system unit in the sequence of their possible occurrences.

    Hard drive problems

    The abnormal noise may be caused by the peculiarities of the hard disk. Often this becomes noticeable when copying and recording any information. In this case, not only noise can occur, but also tapping and grinding. The appearance of such sounds may indicate poor-quality material or wear of the mechanism, so the noise can appear either immediately after purchasing a PC, or after its long and persistent use.

    I want to note that the hard drive can emit some sounds in the form of crackles from the first to work. This applies to inexpensive or older models. High-quality expensive models work quietly or almost silently.

    You shouldn't delay solving this problem (especially if the hard drive worked quietly before), because if the HDD stops working, you will irrevocably lose all documents and files that are stored on your computer. In order to avoid such an unpleasant situation, you need to carefully consider the choice of hard drive, pay attention to the advice of sellers and reviews of the owners.

    If you are already the owner of a noisy hard drive and there is no way to buy a new one, I offer two ways to solve this problem:

    1. Reliable fastening (fixation) of the disk in the case of the system unit using special soft pads. This will get rid of resonance and vibration.
    2. Decrease in the speed of positioning of the reading head (Automatic Acoustic Management or AAM for short), which creates the characteristic crackle. This can be done using the quietHDD program in the AAM Settings section. The program needs to be added to startup.

    Video card

    It is this device that always creates the maximum amount of noise (hum) in the room where the computer is installed. The reason is not the video card itself, but the cooler (fan), which serves to cool the board. In general, it is small enough, however, it is quite enough that it can become a source of loud and unpleasant noise. Modern powerful video cards are equipped with not one fan, but two or even three, which can significantly increase the noise.

    Most often, fans are made on bushings, and if dust enters it, the bushing breaks. Because of what the fan blades can reach the edges of the video card case. Getting rid of this noise source is not easy. The simplest solution would be to replace the cooler.

    You can solve this problem in a different way. To do this, initially it is necessary to disconnect the video card from the motherboard, disassemble it in order to get to the cooler and lubricate it, which is very problematic. Please be aware that this device is fragile and can be easily damaged. If, nevertheless, it is possible to get to the axle, then initially it is necessary to check it for integrity, and then lubricate it with silicone oil. It perfectly prevents noise during operation.

    If the axis is still displaced and during operation the fan blades rub against the edges of the case, then the case itself can be cut down or cut off. True, it should be noted that it will not look quite aesthetically pleasing, but it will allow you to get rid of annoying noise at no extra cost.

    CPU fan

    This reason is very common and creates a huge amount of inconvenience to users. The motherboard has a processor, which is also often called a "stone". So, a radiator with a cooler is additionally installed on it. This design is very bulky in appearance and at the same time collects well the dust that accumulates between them. A large layer of dust gradually increases and complicates the movement of the fan and produces noise. In addition, dust enters the axle, which causes a decrease in revs and a hum.

    The solution to this problem is quite simple. First of all, you need to disassemble the processor cooling system and clean the fan and heatsink from dust. Then you need to disassemble the radiator itself and lubricate the axle with the same silicone oil. During assembly, make sure that the screws are well tightened to avoid vibration.

    Power Supply

    Experts recommend changing this device every 2-3 years, since it is this device that is responsible for the safety of the entire computer. During this time period, all the internal parts of the block become dusty, since the block also contains a cooler that serves to cool the parts. With the blown air, dust and debris get inside the device, which, as in the case of a video card and a cooler, cause noise. However, in this case, the noise level is much higher here, since the rotational speed and diameter of the fan are much larger, and not all computer manufacturers are concerned about creating a silent fan in the power supply.

    You can get rid of the noise yourself by disassembling, cleaning and lubricating the fan. Keep in mind, however, that not all block models allow easy access to content. You can also remove the protective grill near the fan, which will help reduce noise or even disappear altogether.

    In order to get rid of noise and be sure that the power supply is working properly, the best solution would be to purchase a new device instead of the old one.

    Optical drive

    In one of the least common situations that still occur in practice, the cause of noise may not be the entire system unit of the computer, but only the optical drive, which is better known to users as "CD DVD ROM". The reason for the noise in this case is the poor quality of the device. In this case, you need to be careful enough, since noise can only occur when there is a disc in the device. If there is nothing in it, then there will be no noise.

    If this particular device is the cause of the hum, we have to upset you, since it is practically beyond repair. It should be noted that they are not repaired even in warranty service centers, and in the event of a breakdown, they are simply replaced with new ones. The best solution would be to abandon the use of such devices altogether in favor of flash drives, which today are already very common and are used everywhere. In addition, with their help, you can carry out all the necessary operations, including even.

    Any device or motherboard is cracked

    Noise can occur for various reasons and this can occur not only due to manufacturing defects, clogging or defects in the cooler, but also for quite physical reasons. For example, the reason may be a crack on the motherboard, a crack in the video card case, or the presence of various debris in the system unit, etc. Due to the effect on the part of the air blown by the coolers, whistling, rattling or other extraneous sounds may occur, which are usually not observed during normal operation of the system unit.

    In order to establish the cause, you need to check the content for any defects that could arise as a result of an intentional or unintentional impact. For example, some PC users may hit the system unit out of anger while the computer freezes. As a result of such actions, all kinds of defects arise, including dents, chips, cracks, etc.

    Fixing parts

    If your computer is noisy or makes an abnormal hum, you need to check all mountings inside it.

    In order to carry out this check, you first need to open the cover of the block. Then tighten all screws and screws that can be reached with a screwdriver (Phillips). You need to start with the motherboard, to which a large number of component parts are attached. If any of the blocks are not properly secured, during operation the motherboard starts to vibrate and at the same time touch the metal case of the system unit.

    Then it is worth checking the fastening of the video card and processor (especially the cooler). Next, you should pay attention to the hard drive mount. If it does not have an anti-noise fixation, which uses slotted spacers or plastic holders, you can be sure that extraneous noise occurs precisely for this reason due to poor fastening of the hard drive. In order to reduce the noise level significantly, you can insert a small layer of rubber between the metal fasteners. It will soften the vibration that occurs during operation, preventing it from spreading throughout the system unit. The optical drive must be secured in the same way. After these work is completed, check the power supply. Do not forget to tighten the bolts and screws. If there are additional coolers in the system unit, then you need to check them too.

    A very important point will be the correct laying of the connecting wires and cables. All of them must be connected to each other with plastic ties (clamps) and laid so as not to touch the fans.

    What should be done to get rid of noise from the system unit?

    If the problem of the occurrence of extraneous noise is not in the components, and you want to not hear the operation of the computer at all, you can take several actions that will almost completely get rid of the noise of the system unit.

    Cooling system change

    If you want to eliminate the noise once and for all, you should radically change the cooling system, namely, replace it with a liquid one. When using this system, computer components are not cooled by fans, but by liquid using specialized pumps, heat collectors, sensors and other devices.

    A liquid cooling system allows you to almost completely get rid of noise, but the cost of such a system is quite high and amounts to about 500 (and in some cases even more) US dollars. This is quite an expensive pleasure that not every PC user can afford.

    In order to significantly reduce the noise level, it is sometimes enough to replace the case of the system unit. You can purchase a housing with vibration and noise isolation, or make it yourself. Think also about the fact that the legs on which the system unit is located were able to absorb vibration well, for example, be rubberized.

    One of the most acceptable ways is to replace coolers with modern, quieter ones. It should be noted that when carrying out this action, you should not waste time on trifles, otherwise there will be no noticeable effect.

    You may need to install a more powerful fan that will not run to its limit, thus creating noise or hum.

    Cleaning your PC regularly

    Regular cleaning of the computer is very important and useful for the system unit, therefore, such an operation should be carried out periodically (once every six months). This will save you from various problems, including the occurrence of various noises in the computer system unit.

    I hope I have explained to you in detail why the computer is noisy and what needs to be done to get rid of extraneous sounds. Keep an eye on your computer and it will work properly for many years!

    One of the very unpleasant problems that computer owners face is the noise generated by the operation of a personal device. Everything seemed to be fine and suddenly, something buzzed or rattled. This fact indicates that it is necessary to intervene, and immediately. A modern computer contains a whole set of mechanical devices.
    Your computer can make noise for a variety of reasons.

    They are the reason for the noise. These include the following elements:

    • All coolers (fans)
    • HDD
    • Optical drive

    The most common cause of noise is dust clogging of coolers. Cleaning is a mandatory prophylaxis of the device, which can help to avoid more serious malfunctions. You need to clean your computer from dust regularly, without waiting for the cooler to hum. A cooler in a computer is the simplest problem that can cause noise.

    If we consider all the causes of excessive noise in ascending order, the table will look like this:

    1. Dusty cooler in the power supply
    2. Dust in the CPU cooler
    3. Graphics card fan
    4. Hard disk is noisy
    5. Extraneous sound during optical drive operation

    Eliminate noise in your computer

    To know what to do when your computer is noisy, you must first identify the source of the noise. When the fan in the computer's power supply is noisy, eliminating this cause can be considered the least time-consuming process. The fan is located on the back of the device and provides cooling to the motherboard, especially the power supply. It is enough to remove the side wall and access to this cooler will open. You can easily disconnect the connector and, if necessary, remove the device. Dust removal can be done with a brush or vacuum cleaner. You can turn the impeller by hand to determine the softness of the rotation. After cleaning, the fan can be replaced and the power turned on. If you can't get rid of the excess noise, lubrication can help. To do this, remove the fan again, remove the sticker on the impeller and drip some silicone oil into the hole. If this does not help, then the cooler will have to be changed, since the bearings wear out during operation.

    More complex problems will have to be solved if the processor. This fan, of course, also needs to be cleaned of dust, but its control is more complicated. The frequency of revolutions, it, directly depends on the temperature of the central processor, and this parameter depends on the quality of the thermal paste. Drying of this paste while the computer is running leads to the noise of the cooling unit. In order to reduce the noise of the computer by software, by adjusting the speed of the fans, you can use the free utility SpeedFun. After installing it, select the Russian language in the "Configuration" window. A program window with a user-friendly interface will open, where in the Speed 01,02,03,04 windows the speed of all coolers is indicated in percent. It can be changed to achieve the optimum speed / noise ratio.

    Using the SpeedFun program, you can reduce the rotational speed of the cooler

    This utility has many useful functions, including the temperature readings of all elements of the device.

    Any repair actions with the computer can only be carried out when the power is off.

    To finish with the fans, it remains to consider cleaning the cooler of the video card. To do this, you need to remove the video card in the computer. This must be done when the power is completely turned off. The video card has its own processor with a cooling device. You must first clean the video card on your computer and then carefully remove the fan. It can be attached to the radiator with screws or in some other way. Helpful advice: if it is clear that you will not be able to remove the cooler on your own, it is best to contact the service department. If it was possible to remove the cooler without any problems, you need to remove the plastic film on the back side, under which there will be a rubber stopper. The plug should be carefully removed and 2-3 drops of silicone grease should be dripped into the hole. If there is more of it, then the surplus will still flow out.

    Hard disk and optical drive

    If everything is quite simple with dust, then it will be more difficult to deal with other sources of noise, and with some defects, their elimination is almost impossible. Many unpleasant sounds are associated with hard disk operation or malfunction. If the hard drive cracks, this, in the worst case, may indicate a serious breakdown that will require replacing the hard drive. But it is not all that bad. First of all, the crackling of the drive can occur if the free space on the disk decreases. Because of this, the heads quickly move through sectors, bringing together the fragmented file, especially if it is large. In this case, it is necessary to defragment the disk using the means of the operating system.

    Using WinAAM programs, you can control the noise level of the hard disk

    You can change the call time using a small program. This will noticeably reduce noise, but also speed. Each hard drive can control its own noise level with its own Automatic Acoustik Management setting, it just needs a little help. To do this, download the WinAAM program, which is absolutely free. After loading it, the initial window appears. Here you just need to click "Continue" and leave the security setting untouched.

    After that, in the next window, you need to select the "Quiet" value, then, to check the difference in noise characteristics, the utility needs to be restarted and for comparison, click on the "Loud" button.

    Quiet mode in WinAAM
    Loud WinAAM Mode

    The difference, by ear, will be very noticeable. Very often the reason that the system unit is buzzing is vibration from the work of the hard disk. Quiet hard drive, that's good, but quite difficult. The disk case itself is attached to a metal stand inside the system unit with four screws, but sometimes, if the assembly is of poor quality, only two are installed, so the vibration will be strong and many elements will resonate. This small defect is found on close examination. You can reduce the noise of the computer by placing small rubber washers under the screws securing the hard drive, which can be cut from any shock-absorbing material. If none of these measures help, then the disk drive should be replaced.

    When it is noisy, we will always determine. A very common source of this is an optical drive. This is a rather delicate device that does not like low-quality disks from unknown manufacturers. As soon as you buy some pirated product recorded on a cheap disc, the drive will start not making noise, and even roaring, but as soon as you put in a branded disc, it disappears. If the device, after a long period of operation, began to make noise, then this means it needs to be changed. The fact is that such devices are almost never taken for repair, since it is cheaper to supply a new drive than to repair an old one.

    Additional noise sources

    This phenomenon is quite common - all possible sources of noise have been checked, but the computer is buzzing.
    This can only be due to the phenomenon of mechanical resonance. The motherboard is fastened with screws to the racks inside the system unit and very often from the work of the mechanical devices of the computer, screws
    weaken. In addition, inside the device, depending on the specific model, there are also various fastening connections. It is necessary, if possible, to disassemble the computer and tighten all the screws. If this does not help, it remains, as a last resort, to simply return the computer to the point of sale.

    Sometimes there is no noise, but the sound wheezes.

    First, you need to make sure the speaker connections are correct. Further, all operations are associated with drivers. In Realtek HD, you can change the sampling rate, then reinstall the drivers. Each operating system has its own settings, which are responsible for the sound quality. The external sound card may be damaged. If all else fails, you'll have to reinstall the OS.

    To sum up, the following can be noted. It is necessary, without waiting for the emergence of problems, to clean the computer, lubricate the fan in the computer, not to use pirated discs and try to avoid visiting problem sites where you can get a whole set of malicious programs that can spoil the computer so that it will take a long time to get out of such a situation. Some viruses take over control of the hard disk, so you will have to change it.

    Now you know what to do if your computer makes a lot of noise.

    Why is my computer humming a lot during operation?

    Loud noise from a computer is a fairly common problem that can be quickly and easily resolved without much difficulty.

    The main reason for the hum of the computer is the fan (cooler), which begins to wedge and emit strong noises during the production of factory grease, dust or corrosion.

    How to lubricate a noisy fan

    1. Identify the source of the noise. To do this, remove the side covers from the case of the system unit, put the computer flat on, turn it on and determine which of the coolers makes a hum. If, before turning on, you find foreign objects, dust lumps or debris under the fan (there are several of them in the computer) or in its blades, this may be the problem. In this case, it is enough to clean the system unit inside (if possible with the help of a compressor).

    If the sound could not determine which of the fans is making noise, gently and lightly touch the center of each of them with your finger for a second. This will reduce the revs and easily identify the source of the noise. Be careful not to get your fingers caught in the spinning blades. Never use foreign objects such as a screwdriver or a pencil for this, as they can jump straight into the working blades.

    To check the cooler in the power supply without disassembling it, just press the case on top of the system unit in the area of its location. If the sound changes, then the problem is there.

    2. Remove the cooler and prepare it for lubrication. Carefully remove it by first pulling out the 220W power cord. There is a hole in the center of the cooler, which is often closed with a rubber stopper. The hole itself, with or without a plug, can be sealed with a sticker with the manufacturer's logo; we also remove it.

    In advanced cases, when corrosion has formed, and wear has begun due to the development of lubricant, one cannot do without a common solvent or what is at hand (isopropyl alcohol, white spirit, WD-40). Put a few drops of solvent into the grease hole and wait 10-30 minutes. After that, wipe off the remaining liquid that was used with a napkin.

    3. Lubrication process. Ideally, a special silicone grease is used, but it is difficult to find it on sale (you can order it in an online store or buy it on the radio market), so we will use available means. You can use gun oil, a special sewing machine lubricant, or, in extreme cases, machine oil. It is strictly not allowed to use creams, edible oils, various body oils, etc.

    Pour a few drops of oil into the hole, turning the blades. Next, add a little lithol or solid oil to the tip of the screwdriver and close the hole with a rubber stopper, if any. Glue the tape on top so that nothing flows out and cut off the excess. Lubricate the fan carefully to prevent oil from getting into the place where the tape is glued, otherwise it simply will not stick or come off after some time during operation.

    After the performed procedures, you can forget about the annoying and unpleasant noise of the computer for six months or a year.

    Other causes of computer hum

    A source of quite strong noise can also be the cooling system of a powerful video card under load, for example, when you play "heavy" games. This is a normal phenomenon that you have to come to terms with.

    Another reason for the hum of the computer is the small, high-speed coolers installed by the manufacturer. If such noise is of fundamental importance to you, then only replacing it with large and low-speed cooling systems, replacing the power supply unit with a more modern one, equipped with a 12 cm fan, will help.

    Most people, trying to keep up with progress, constantly update their PCs and strive to replace them with new, more advanced ones. Nevertheless, it is possible that the fan is noisy due to the fact that this is an old model, which seems loud against the background of modern, almost silent ones. If the sound appeared recently or unexpectedly, there are several options for malfunctions that can cause it.

    Cooler power supply

    The cooling system of the power supply unit can make noise. If the room is dusty or the entire system has been operating for several years without replacing elements, contamination even gets there, bypassing all protective lines. This part usually makes the most of the noise, since the cooler has a large diameter and a very high rotation speed. For cleaning and purging, the power supply will have to be disassembled.

    Some models can be disassembled quite easily, the main thing is to remember where which bolt was unscrewed from. Then, after cleaning and lubricating the desired parts, reassemble the unit and reinstall it. Options that do not involve simple disassembly will have to be changed. In any case, experts advise installing a new power supply every two to three years, regardless of the presence of noise and failures.

    Cooling the graphics card

    Problems often arise due to the fact that in most cases it is installed upside down to achieve maximum efficiency. At large long-term loads, it can gradually move, starting to touch static surfaces with the blades. If this happens, even a fan of such a small diameter can be very noisy.

    The easiest way to solve the problem is to buy a new video card. But if desired, the old noisy version can be separated from the motherboard, check the fan axis and lubricate it. If the axis has shifted, you will have to file the edges of the video card box a little so that the blades stop touching them.

    CPU cooler

    The processor cooler also makes noise quite often. It gets the most dust and is the least protected. The main layer accumulates between the fan and the radiator, where air is forced into for subsequent cooling. To clean the system, the fan is disconnected and both elements are cleaned separately, lubricated if necessary.

    It is highly undesirable to use a vacuum cleaner when cleaning coolers. This is convenient, but sliding dust particles create static electricity that can damage the system.

    Failure fan installed in the system block computer can damage several devices at once. It is especially important to keep an eye on the cooler of the power supply, because overheating of this equipment can cause a large voltage surge.

    You will need

    • - crosshead screwdriver;
    • - soldering iron;
    • - knife;
    • - insulating tape.

    Instructions

    If you notice that your computer's power supply is strong, be sure to clean the cooler. Turn off your computer and remove the power supply. Be sure to disconnect the device from the mains beforehand. Disassemble the unit by unscrewing a few screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

    Vacuum the inside of the power supply. Remove any remaining dust using cotton swabs. Soak them in an alcohol solution and wipe the cooler blades. If the fan is completely out of order, it must be urgently replaced.

    Do not turn on the computer with a defective power supply. Doing so can damage the motherboard and other critical components. Find out your PSU model and cooler type. Remove the old fan. To do this, unsolder the cooler power wires from the block board.

    Finding out the reason why the computer is buzzing is quite simple. We do a check, starting with the fan of the power supply and up to the mounts on the motherboard.

    from 270 p. RUB

    The computer is buzzing - unfortunately, this is not just an unpleasant extraneous noise, it is the system unit giving a distress signal.

    Loud noise can indicate wear and tear on parts, in addition to the fact that working in such an environment is quite difficult.

    Let's try to understand what kind of problems the system unit is signaling, why, and whether something can be done about it.

    Why is my computer humming?

    Consecutively check the fan mounts separately and the processor as a whole, as well as the video card. Next, explore the Winchester. If the hard disk drive is of poor quality, without rubberized gaskets or plastic holders, then the mount of this disk will definitely make noise. What can be done in this case? Place a small layer of rubber between the metal beams to soften vibration and thus reduce noise.

    We also check the optical drive and power supply for mechanical defects.

    Tighten all screws, check for cracks and chips visually.

    We scan additional fans (if any) in the same way.

    Another reason the computer hums is a clogged fan on the processor itself. The processor on the motherboard is also known as a "stone", on which an additional heatsink with a fan is installed. This bulky device loves to collect dust and debris, since the cooler cools the heatsink by blowing air from the system unit.

    The debris is collected precisely between the heatsink and the cooler. This layer of dust accumulates and makes the fan more difficult to operate, resulting in additional noise.

    Each refrigerator hums during operation - the average noise level is 38-44 dB. If it makes more noise, uncomfortable conditions are created both in the kitchen and in other rooms. Sometimes the problem can be solved, but it happens that loud noise is simply a consequence of the operation of the compressor and other elements of technology. It is possible to determine the method and possibility of eliminating sounds interfering with the owner of the refrigerator by finding out the reason for their appearance. Let's figure out why the technique works loudly: hums, makes noise, clicks, whistles and what to do about it.

    What noise is not a problem

    Not every apartment or house has modern refrigeration equipment that generates noise within acceptable levels - up to 40 dB. Sometimes the owners of old, but reliable models continue to use them, not paying attention to the humming compressor. In this case, the noise from the old Atlanta or the even more outdated Biryusa freezer will hardly be able to be reduced to an acceptable level. For such a technique, it is the norm.

    You should react differently if the noise is emitted by more modern models of well-known manufacturers - for example, Bosch or Samsung. If it becomes noisy only after starting a device that is disconnected from the power supply, this is also normal. But, when the new refrigerator continues to work loudly periodically or constantly, it is worth looking for the problem, focusing on the nature of the noise and the situation in which it usually appears.

    Sound character

    To determine the causes of the appearance of noise, you can focus on their nature. Having listened to the hum of technology, one can distinguish the following types of sounds:

    1. A hum or howl resembling the noise of a blizzard. Refrigerators start to howl due to compressor operation. The noise is complemented by vibration of the housing and other parts. When using Liebherr SBS 7252 two-compressor refrigerators, the hum lasts longer.
    2. Strange sound like gurgling or gurgling. Sometimes the equipment starts to hiss, grunt or grunt - most often the sound is heard when the compressor is turned on. This is because the new refrigerants are noisier than the old brands R12 and R134a.
    3. Whistling. Refrigerators can whistle when the fan blades touch the ice - a problem that arises if you do not defrost models for a long time without the No Frost mode.
    4. Buzz. The cause of the sound is a burned out evaporator heater in the freezer. Due to the formation of a large amount of ice, the motor begins to constantly buzz and rattle loudly.
    5. Clicks. The reason is the operation of the temperature relays. Usually they are ignored. But, if the refrigerator clicks harder, the technician can signal a problem, to eliminate which the relay is changed. The problem is often encountered with Ariston Hotpoint products.
    6. Monotonous broadband noise. The fan is most likely the cause.
    7. Sound similar to ringing and rattling. The refrigerator may rattle or jingle if not positioned properly.

    Important! Some refrigerators can crackle when placed too close to walls or radiators. The problem is solved for any refrigerator by moving a sufficient distance from them. And the owners of such inexpensive models as Stinol may experience a slight crack due to the expansion and contraction of the plastic walls of the refrigerator compartment.

    Situations in which extraneous sounds appear

    Noise when turning on the refrigerator is not considered a serious problem - it is usually caused by the starting current required to start the compressor rotor. But, if an extraneous rattling sound occurs even when turned off, there is a possibility that the refrigerant pipes touch the casing or frame. You can reduce or completely eliminate noise by detecting the touch point and manually fixing the problem.

    The refrigerator can make noise and hum without ceasing due to compressor wear - the formation of backlash, abrasion of pistons or piston rings. Not a single model is immune from such a buzz, including the products of the popular Indesit brand. If the parts are badly worn, engine decompression occurs. In this case, in addition to extraneous sounds, an increase in the operating time of the motor is noted. The problem should be eliminated by repairing or replacing the engine.

    Other main situations include the following:

    1. The equipment makes a lot of noise not only at the beginning of work, but also when it is turned off - the reason may be weakened compressor shock absorbers. Because of this, the vibration of the motor becomes more noticeable, and the noise is stronger precisely when stopped. The noise should be reduced by adjusting the shock absorbers.
    2. If the noise appears at the new refrigerator, the reason may be the most mundane - the transport bolts have not been removed from the compressor.
    3. The equipment begins to shake and hum after moving or installing in a new place - it is worth checking its position on the floor. The equipment may need to be adjusted.
    4. Extraneous sounds are heard after closing the door - a lot of food has been loaded into the refrigerator, so the motor starts to lower the temperature to a predetermined level. The same reason for the sounds that appear after defrosting any model - from Bosch to Saratov.
    5. The noise that appears after loading freon may indicate an excessive loading of refrigerant.

    Owners of Indesit refrigerators and other popular brands may encounter such a problem as extraneous sounds when filling the ice maker. This is due to mineral deposits accumulated inside the valve. There is only one thing to do here - to replace the clogged part.

    Refrigerator type

    There are also such noises that are characteristic of the breakdown of refrigerators of a certain type. A strange creak and rattle can be observed in many modern models with the "Know Frost" system, which are often found among the products of the LG brand. Such noises indicate a fan malfunction. They solve the problem by defrosting the technique and calling the master.

    Owners of built-in refrigerators Ariston Hotpoint and other brands are faced with a lot of noise immediately after installation. This happens due to the fact that the technique becomes too close to other surfaces - walls and shelves. Even effective sound insulation does not always help to get rid of noise.

    conclusions

    Having figured out what reasons may be for different options for the noise of the refrigerator, you should choose a method to eliminate the problem. If it was not possible to determine why the equipment was buzzing, buzzing or cracking, it was not possible to diagnose and correct the problem by entrusting the service specialists.

    When extraneous and sometimes loud sounds are observed in the computer, then this should be given importance in a timely manner, probably cooler noise, the hard drive is cracking or the BIOS is giving certain signals about a hardware failure.

    1. Pollution... The most common problem, its characteristic symptom is noise, which was caused without any intervention in the computer. At the same time, the user does not know why the noise is observed, since everything was in order before. When a large amount of dust and dirt accumulates on the cooler, it gradually loses its quality characteristics and starts making noise, clinging to the edges of the case. The problem is fraught with the fact that the blades will be damaged: broken, unevenly worn, which will lead to an imbalance of the device. In another case, constant mechanical impact prevents the normal movement of the cooler, and it stops, which leads to overheating and failure of the power supply, processor, video card;

    1. Grease... The cooler, like all rubbing parts, contains grease; it uses a silicone type. The oil should be added periodically, otherwise it will dry out sooner or later. Another case is when a person too often adds lubricant to the fan and from this it clogs up. In some cases, WD-40 is used, which is categorically not suitable for this purpose (although many claim that it works, you will have to lubricate it every 1-4 weeks), you should buy a special silicone oil;

    1. High speed cooler... In a normal situation, the computer independently determines at what speed the fan will turn. Some experts set parameters when the number of revolutions is always maximum, respectively, and noise occurs, as well as unproductive energy consumption. The user will simply have to lower the number of revolutions or turn on the automatic adjustment;
    1. Incorrect housing attachment. Usually coolers are installed on the case of the system unit or laptop, as well as on the processor heatsink. If the fasteners are loose, rattling will become noticeable, and, accordingly, certain problems with the performance of the fan and the quality of heat dissipation;

    1. Turn off the computer and disconnect power from the system unit;
    2. Remove the side cover, usually the one on the left;

    1. There are several options here:
    • If there are noises from the central processor, you need to unscrew 4 bolts along the edges of the case with a fan and remove it, but first disconnect the cable from the motherboard (you don't need to disconnect it). On one side there is a sticker that must be carefully peeled off. In order not to bother, you can simply pour a few drops of silicone oil into the hole. It is necessary to clean the blades with a brush or brush, also remove dirt from the body and radiator;
    • When the noise comes from the video card, you need to clean it. It should be noted right away that coolers rarely get clogged, since they are most often located at the bottom of the board, although not always. The first step is to disconnect the video adapter by unscrewing the bolt that secures one of the sides to the frame. You may need to remove the protective cover from the device. Often the cooler mount is under it, you have to take a small screwdriver and insert it between the blades, unscrewing the bolts. Remove the connection cable and peel off the sticker. Clean off dirt and drip oil;

    1. Carefully clean the system unit from dirt in other places, otherwise the cooler will soon clog up again;
    2. Now collect and connect everything back;
