Washbasin from a plastic bottle of 5 liters. Street washstand for a summer residence: types and methods of self-production

Country "moidodyr" can be very diverse. For him, you can additionally buy a nice mirror, get a special hinged shelf for toiletries, a towel holder, a dish holder, a stainless steel sink or other material. It can be unheated and with it.

The device of a simple washbasin for giving from scrap materials

Drain pipes in such a washstand can be "disguised" by removing them in a special device. It is best to take an aluminum or stainless steel sink. While, it is best to refuse earthenware due to the severity and fragility of this material at the same time.

Before you build an unheated washbasin, it is best to first make a sketch. Think about what the washbasin will be like, what details will be present, as well as what the tank, water faucet and main frame will be made of.

You will also need to think about it. This will require a corrugated pipe, a rubber seal to connect it to a stainless steel sink, and, in fact, the container itself, where the spent water will drain.

As the latter, you can adapt the most ordinary bucket or make a pipe outlet into a toilet drain pit.

It will also be necessary to think over the volume of the water tank under the washstand without heating. If you expect to travel to the countryside only on weekends, then in this case the tank may become a small container. If it comes to carrying out construction work in a cottage, then it would be more prudent to stock up on a tank of more than 10 liters.

The simplest washstand

You can make a handwashing device from a regular plastic bottle. The whole process will take you a minimum amount of time.
Let's see how this can be done. Take a bottle for water, cut off the bottom of it and, turning it over, fix it with a wire to the nearest tree or. Now it will be possible to pour water into such a simulated washbasin.

Instructions for making a washbasin from plastic bottles

In order to rinse your hands, it will be enough just to unscrew the lid, which will be a faucet, and then screw it back on. That's all the simple wisdom - your summer cottage "wash" is ready!

More sophisticated washbasin design

If desired, you can make an unheated washbasin and a more advanced type with a larger water capacity. For this purpose, you can use all kinds of water accessories that you will find in your suburban area.

For example, a plastic canister or a small keg might work well.

After you place a hole for water of the required diameter in the tank of your choice, you just have to cut it out or drill it. After that, it will be necessary to connect a water squeegee to it by putting on rubber gaskets on both sides and tightening with nuts. Then, in fact, the tap itself is installed on the squeegee for supplying water to the "moidodyr".

An example of a complex design of a washbasin from a can and a tap

A self-made dacha "moidodyr" is, as a rule, a very inexpensive, but quite practical device for providing you with clean water.

It should be noted that it would be desirable to preliminarily think over the water drainage system. To do this, you can adapt an additional reservoir, from which the water will go through the pipe to the garden. You can equip the washstand so that the water simply pours out onto the ground through the faucet and sink and goes into the soil. The main thing is to cover the surface of the earth with plenty of gravel so that the soil under your feet does not erode.

Improved view of the garden washbasin

If your plans include constructing a more durable "sink", in this case you will need:

  • buy an industrial water tank;
  • buy a sink, faucet or mixer;
  • think over a system for connecting water and further draining it into the sewer;
  • buy materials for arranging the frame.

The easiest way to start the construction of the washbasin is to install the main frame. It can be made of wood or metal. When constructing the frame, the dimensions of the sink and water tank must be taken into account.
It is important to make a "washstand" in such a way that it fits harmoniously into the design of a summer cottage or your home interior, if you decide to place a washstand in your kitchen.

In the next step, you can install the sink and equip the drain by connecting it to the water drainage system.

An example of an outdoor sink is practically no different from a home sink in the kitchen

After that, you can install the washbasin tank, while it will need to be fixed tightly.

At your discretion, a faucet can be installed in the tank or equipped with a kitchen mixer familiar to us. At the final stage, it remains only to connect the water to the washbasin.

Materials that can be used to make a washbasin

A washbasin made of wood looks very beautiful, but at the same time it will definitely need to be processed before using special means to increase its service life, since the tree itself is subject to natural deterioration due to high humidity and atmospheric precipitation.

We all understand that we need to wash our hands, but we are used to doing it in a comfortable environment. At the picnic, and sometimes at the dacha, there is no sink and sewage system. Pouring water on each other's hands is inconvenient. You can't get enough of sanitary napkins either. So, all eyes are turned towards the plastic bottle.

The idea to make a washbasin with their own hands came to minds of many. We decided to test different options for making a washbasin from a plastic container in operation. For convenience, the various methods were divided into those that can be implemented in nature in the absence of a tool and more complex ones that are convenient to use in the country.

We leave for nature - we need to stick our hands in the water

The simplest washstand is obtained if a 5-liter eggplant with water is turned upside down and fixed in a fork in a tree. It is necessary to slightly unscrew the lid - and water will drip. However, the container has to be removed periodically to let in a portion of air or refill with water.

The situation improves if a hole is made in the bottom of the bottle, as in the photo below. Now we turn off the lid and adjust the water flow. Close the lid after use.

However, such a washstand is difficult to fill with water, and we turned the container over. The water flow can be adjusted by opening and closing the lid. The next photo shows how water runs from two holes.

It is better not to repeat this mistake and make one hole, since when you unscrew the lid to refill with water, you have to hold two holes in the bottom of the container with your fingers.

This method does not work very well with a 5-liter eggplant, since the soft walls of the bottle sag and the water escapes for a while even with the lid closed. We found a bottle with a lid that we could drink from and decided to use it.

This lid opens quickly, but does not regulate the flow of water. The water flows out too quickly, and the issue is solved only by selecting the diameter of the hole on the bottom of the container. The drinking lid at the bottom does not work well.

We turned the bottle upside down again. The result is the same: it is necessary to make very small holes so that the water does not run away quickly.

It is very good if you have a nail or a piece of wire, and also have the opportunity to heat them on fire. In this case, you need to make several holes at the very bottom of the bottle cap. The bottom of the container should be cut off, but not completely.

Now we collect the washstand and tie it with twine to the tree with the cork down. Water is poured through the "cap" on the bottom of the bottle. The latter closes the container from debris. The plug can be rotated and the water flow can be adjusted.

At the dacha for the washstand, we will find a syringe and a self-tapping screw with a drill

At the dacha, you can make a washbasin from a plastic container with your own hands according to the standard scheme. I used a galvanized self-tapping screw as a valve. Under the hat I planted a suction cup from an old soap dish, which blocks the water well. I screwed another lid on the edge of the self-tapping screw so as not to injure my hands.

Water is poured into an inverted bottle through a partially cut off bottom. There is a little water leaking through the valve, so it is best to pull it down a little after use.

Most of all, I liked the washstand using a 2-5 ml medical syringe. The sequence of actions is as follows:

Especially for the readers of this article, we have developed and made a hygienic set with our own hands. In addition to the washstand, it includes a soap dish and pockets for toothbrushes and toothpaste. To make it, you will need another plastic bottle, which should be slightly larger than the diameter of the container for the washstand. In our example, a 2 liter beer container fits well on a Coca-Cola bottle. The sequence of actions of the master class is as follows:

See how practical the headset looks like in nature. In such a situation, you probably won't have to ask children to wash their hands or brush their teeth many times.

Particularly fortunate can catch the eye of a factory valve for a washbasin made of plastic bottles. Buy it, put it in the car, it will come in handy. Enjoy your stay!

Hands should be washed in any situation, because hygiene is of great importance for human health. If there is no tap, you can use a regular plastic bottle.

Such a design will allow you to put yourself in order anywhere - there would be water and a bulky container. Let's find out how to make a plastic bottle washbasin.

Simple option

To create such a structure is within the power of any person, even who has not previously held any tools in his hands.

  • Take a large bottle with a volume of several liters and use a knife to remove its bottom.
  • The resulting vessel should be hung from a post or tree. You can simply put the bottle upside down in the string bag by pushing the neck through the bottom of the net. We hang the string bag on a nail. But more often the washbasin is banally tied to something with a wire so that it does not fall off - such a structure is strong enough and can sag for a long time.
  • Now unscrew the lid so that water flows out of it. It is necessary to make holes on the side surface. This can be done easily using a long nail and a simple hammer. If the latter is not at hand, you can heat the awl and carefully make holes. Now it is enough to slightly unscrew the lid so that the water pours onto your hands.
  • Another option is to drive a nail into the middle with the end sharpened from above. If you press on it from below, water will flow into your hands.
  • There is a simplified version of this procedure - in the upper part of the bottle we make holes through which we pass the wire. In the area of the lid, we make several holes with the same nail or awl. We hang the resulting structure by a wire on some branch. If everything was done correctly, now it can be turned over without any problems, after which water will flow.

Such a device is not only easy to create, but also very simple to use. Note that the latter method has several disadvantages. The bottle must not be filled entirely, otherwise some of the water will pour out of the holes. And an unattached structure is unstable - it can be turned over by the wind. At the same time, this method of making a washbasin is considered the simplest.

More complex version

If the washstand was required for a longer period, we will try to arrange it according to the plumbing rules. Take a large plastic bottle and cut a hole in its lower part. We install a squeegee there, which is easy to find in any plumbing store. Do not forget about the gaskets, which must be installed on both sides of the hole, pressing them with nuts. Now we attach a tap to the structure, pour water and enjoy the benefits of civilization far from the water supply.

A plastic washbasin is a great way to maintain hygiene in a place where there are no dedicated devices. The available materials and the simplicity of the design of such a washbasin allow anyone to make it.

A necessary thing in the country or at a picnic is a washstand or washbasin, which can be hung on the site. This practical tool allows you to rinse your hands after gardening, wash your tools, rinse vegetables or fruits without going into your home. Such a country sink can be made easily from plastic bottles, and there can be many ways, we will consider only a few of them.

The most elementary suburban washstand made of plastic bottles

A large plastic bottle with a lid is taken, then the bottom is cut off with a knife or scissors. The bottom can be not completely cut off and folded back (this will be a place for soap). After that, we pierce the holes on the sides with an awl, through which we thread a lace or wire, and hang the resulting washstand.

Alternatively, you can nail the washstand to the holder. Or, if you have holders, attach the washstand to them, as shown in the photo.

Pour water into the washstand. When you need to wash your hands, just unscrew the lid a little.

Inverted plastic bottle option:

You can also adapt the washstand like this:

we take a plastic bottle, make holes in the lid heated over a candle or stove with an awl (there should be a lot of them), we also make holes for the lace in the middle of the bottle so that it can easily turn over, and hang it in such a way that it is with the lid up.

When washing your hands, simply turn the bottle over.

Our country washstand from a plastic bottle is ready! As you can see, it is very simple to make it.

The option is more complex and functional:

We take two plastic bottles of the same size. First, we deal with one bottle, which will be the sink itself. We cut off the part with the bottom, but not evenly, but leaving a small eyelet on the remaining part (this will be the mount for our country washstand).

Cut out the widest part of the second bottle (closer to the base), then finish it as in the picture. We need to make (closer to the top) several pairs of horizontal cuts, 2-3 cm long (we will insert the toothbrushes here). Below we cut through a rectangular window (cut from 3 sides and turn to the side, so that a tube of toothpaste can fit into this tube). We fix the turned-off rectangle around the edges with a stapler.

We put the second blank on the first and get a washstand with additional functions. Put an inverted bottom on top (for soap).

All of us residents of the city are accustomed to coziness and comfort, so we try to do everything to ensure convenience in the summer cottage. A manual washbasin is one of the must-have items, because we wash our hands very often in the garden. You can make a washbasin yourself, especially since you can get something really original and beautiful for decorating a garden.
