#BF4 #bf4ru Friends and readers of the blog site, October 29, 2013 The launch of the new Battlefield 4 for PC and consoles took place - the latest in the legendary series of shooters from Electronic Arts. 2 years ago we already published instructions on how to solve. Since then, the article has helped more than 120 thousand users and this moment is one of the most read on our blog. This year we are again coming to the aid of gamers from all over the RuNet and former USSR to solve problems with the launch and gameplay of battlefield 4.

Battlefield 4 system requirements.

2. Battlefield 4 won't start.

In general, to run BF4 normally you need:

  • Installed the game Battlefield 4 on your computer. Preferably licensed. And make sure that there are no Russian characters or spaces in the path to the game folder.
  • Installed and updated punkbuster anti-cheat.
  • Installed and updated origin client.
  • Installed and updated DirectX 11.
  • 64-bit operating system (for beta version)
  • A video card that supports directX 11.
  • Updated drivers for your video card. For nvidia description and links, for amd description and download links. These are new beta drivers specifically for BF4.

If you are still in the beta version and the game does not start, install the full version of the game, it is already available for order (links are above).

If you already have a license and nothing helps, wait for patches and do not forget that as soon as you become a license holder, all EA technical support benefits apply to you.

  • Disable your antivirus while starting the game (in the case of a repack, this can play a cruel joke on you)
  • Increase the operating system paging file size to 8GB (depending on your amount of RAM)
  • Update the computer configuration if the game does not run at least at the minimum.

3. Known issues with battlefield 4 BETA.

The beta version of the game Battlefield 4 became available on October 1 for the PC, xBOX and playstation 3 platforms. Beta is always a lot of errors and bugs in the game. Known problems in the Battlefield 4 stage are described on the EA website, here.

In addition to the problem with launching the game under Windows 8 when the time allotted for launching the game expires, the following bugs have been recorded:

  • The grenade launcher may display a charged rocket even though you are already out of ammo
  • A bag of ammo can destroy a tree
  • Some players are unable to complete their Battlefield 4 pre-orders on the Origin Store

Etc. If you have to get used to some problems, then the mistake of buying a game on an off-site can be avoided very simply - buy battlefield 4 in another store. For example .

4. Error: "Battlefield 4 loading time has expired."

If Battlefield 4 won't start because the maximum loading time has passed, this can be resolved by simply restarting your computer.

For Windows Vista and Windows 7 users, simply restart your computer and launch Battlefield 4 again. After rebooting, the game should launch.

Windows 8 users who are experiencing long game loading times should disable the Fast Boot option before restarting their computer. After a reboot, this option can be reactivated.

  • Fast boot settings can be found in the “Control Panel”, section “Power Options” - “Power button action”.
  • From the menu that opens, select “Change currently unavailable settings.” You may receive a system warning Account users; accept it and click Continue. You will then be able to edit the Shutdown Options.
  • Uncheck the “Enable Fast Startup” checkbox and save the changes.
  • To enable fast startup again, repeat all operations, checking the box in front of the required item.

Attention: If the problem persists, you will have to repeat this operation every 49 days.

5. Battlefield 4 slows down (lags)

While the game was in beta testing, there were many cases of freezes on any graphics configuration, even on the highest-end systems.

At the time of release, many problems with the brakes remained. First, make sure your system meets the system requirements.

It’s worth considering that if your computer’s parameters meet the minimum system requirements, it does not mean that you can play normally. The game will start and crawl at 2-5 frames per second, and adding shadows and any anti-aliasing will most likely cause the entire system to stop.
And the system’s compliance with the recommended requirements does not mean that it will be possible to play at ULTRA quality.

In any case, if your computer meets the recommended system requirements, take care of optimizing your graphics settings.

As practice shows, in order for the game not to slow down during games, and the ping not to jump like crazy:

  • Reduce the quality of the shadows, or remove them altogether
  • Remove anti-aliasing
  • Disable vertical sync (vsync)
  • Reduce viewing range on the battlefield.

Performance settings and Vsync can be changed in both the game settings and the graphics card settings. It is better to do this in the game, and in the video adapter control panel (for ATI this is CCC with a red icon in the system tray) leave the mode when the performance is set by the application (this option is enabled by default).

If you have a laptop, do not forget that during the game it must be connected to a 220V network. so that the system does not underestimate the power consumption of the CPU and GPU and high performance should be selected in the video card control panel.

The latter is especially true for laptops with two video cards, when you need to set the game file to run on the second (external) video card. This can also be done through the nvidia control panel or catalyst control center.

6. DirectX Error. DirectX function (…) An invalid parameter was passed to the returning function. GPU intel(R) HD Graphics, Driver: Unknown

The error indicates that battlefield 4 did not start on your video card. Since this is Intel HD Graphics, it is unlikely to start at all, even with updated directX and drivers. intel HD is graphics built into intel processors; it is not designed for resource-intensive games.

Also, a similar message may appear on other video cards; to remove it, update your video and directX drivers.

7. Error message: “Your operating system is not supported”

You have an outdated version of Windows, please update. Ideal option To run battlefield 4 is Windows 8 64bit (8.1) or Windows 7 64 bit.

8. Error: Invalid license. Reason code = Missing: Error 0xC1

You do not have the Microsoft visual C++ redistributable libraries on your system. If you read the post about solving problems with games (at the beginning of the article), then you should not have this problem. In any case, you can download the libraries from the Microsoft website.

9. Black (white) screen when starting battlefield 4 (eternal loading of battlefield 4)

  • End the BF4 process through the task manager and close Origin
  • Open the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist(or your folder with the game in which it is installed). If you don't have an Origin Games folder, look for the Battlefield 4 folder here C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin, or search for files and folders in the C:\ drive with the search phrase “Battlefield 4”
  • Create a new folder and name it "files"
  • Drag (cut - CTRL+X) all files and folders from the path in step 2, except DSETUP.dll, dsetup32.dll,dxdllreg_x86.cab And DXSETUP.exe to a new "files" folder.
  • Right click and run Origin as administrator
  • Right-click on BF4 in the list of your games, select “fix installation”
  • After fixing the game, run it, everything should work

If you are faced with the fact that Battlefield 4 slows down, crashes, Battlefield 4 won’t start, Battlefield 4 won’t install, controls don’t work in Battlefield 4, there is no sound, errors pop up, saves don’t work in Battlefield 4 – we offer you the most common ways to solve the problem problems.

First, check whether your PC's specifications meet the minimum system requirements:

  • OS: Windows Vista 32-bit (SP2)
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz/AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHz
  • Memory: 4 GB
  • Video: 512 MB (AMD HD 3870/Nvidia 8800GT)
  • HDD: 30 GB

Be sure to update your video card drivers and other software

Before you remember the worst words and express them towards the developers, do not forget to go to the official website of the manufacturer of your video card and download the latest drivers. Often, drivers specially optimized for them are prepared for the release of games. You can also try installing a later version of drivers if the problem is not solved by installing the current version.

It's important to remember that you should only download final versions of graphics cards - try not to use beta versions, as they may contain a large number of no errors found or corrected.

Do not forget that for stable operation of games, installation of the latest version of DirectX is often required, which can always be downloaded from the official Microsoft website.

Battlefield 4 won't launch

Many problems with launching games occur due to incorrect installation. Check if there were any errors during installation, try uninstalling the game and running the installer again, after disabling the antivirus - often files necessary for the game to work are deleted by mistake. It is also important to remember that the path to the folder with the installed game should not contain Cyrillic characters - use only Latin letters and numbers for directory names.

It also doesn’t hurt to check if there is enough space on the HDD for installation. You can try to run the game as Administrator in compatibility mode different versions Windows.

Battlefield 4 is slow. Low FPS. Lags. Friezes. Freezes

First, install the latest drivers for your video card; this can significantly increase the FPS in the game. Also check your computer's load in the task manager (opened by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE). If before starting the game you see that some process is consuming too many resources, turn off its program or simply end this process from the task manager.

Next, go to the graphics settings in the game. First of all, turn off anti-aliasing and try lowering the post-processing settings. Many of them consume a lot of resources and disabling them will significantly improve performance without significantly affecting the picture quality.

Battlefield 4 crashes to desktop

If Battlefield 4 often crashes to your desktop slot, try to start solving the problem by lowering the graphics quality. It is possible that your computer simply does not have enough performance and the game cannot run correctly. It's also worth checking for updates - most modern games have a system automatic installation new patches. Check if this option is disabled in the settings.

Black screen in Battlefield 4

More often than not, the problem with a black screen is an issue with the GPU. Check if your video card is compatible minimum requirements and install the latest drivers. Sometimes a black screen is a result of insufficient CPU performance.

If everything is fine with the hardware and it meets the minimum requirements, try switching to another window (ALT+TAB), and then returning to the game window.

Battlefield 4 won't install. Installation stuck

First of all, check if you have enough HDD space for installation. Remember that for the installation program to work correctly, the stated amount of space is required, plus 1-2 gigabytes of free space on the system disk. In general, remember the rule - there should always be at least 2 gigabytes of free space on the system disk for temporary files. Otherwise, both games and programs may not work correctly or may refuse to start at all.

Installation problems can also occur due to a lack of Internet connection or unstable operation. Also, do not forget to pause the antivirus while installing the game - sometimes it interferes with the correct copying of files or deletes them by mistake, considering them viruses.

Saves not working in Battlefield 4

By analogy with the previous solution, check the availability of free space on the HDD - both on the one where the game is installed and on the system drive. Often save files are stored in a documents folder, which is located separately from the game itself.

Controls not working in Battlefield 4

Sometimes game controls do not work due to multiple input devices being connected at the same time. Try disabling the gamepad or, if for some reason you have two keyboards or mice connected, leave only one pair of devices. If your gamepad does not work, then remember that games are officially supported only by controllers defined as Xbox joysticks. If your controller is detected differently, try using programs that emulate Xbox joysticks (for example, x360ce).

Sound does not work in Battlefield 4

Check if the sound works in other programs. After this, check whether the sound is turned off in the game settings and whether the sound playback device to which your speakers or headset is connected is selected there. Next, while the game is running, open the mixer and check if the sound there is muted.

If you are using an external sound card, check for new drivers on the manufacturer's website.

You should also remember that the studio's partner is AMD, so Battlefield 4 on video cards from this vendor than on Nvidia products.

Below you can find the recommended system requirements Battlefield 4. The game does not play well on laptops, so it is advisable to use a desktop computer. Remember that with the following configuration, you will be able to play with complete comfort at high graphics settings:
