According to the same chronicler Hermogenes, miracles began to happen during the march. For example, two blind people, Joseph and Nikita, were healed.

This action and many other similar ones so amazed the then-ruling Ivan the Terrible that he ordered the Kazan Cathedral to be built on the spot where the icon was found, and also to create convent.
