Is it possible to swim in thermal springs? Hot springs - healing effects and contraindications

Thermal springs are one of the main gifts of nature in Adygea; recreation on them is considered one of the most popular in the republic.

What are the benefits of swimming in thermal pools and what ailments can warm mineral springs help you cope with? website.

There are more than 20 thermal springs in Adygea. They are mainly concentrated in the Maykop region, in the villages of Tula and Tsvetochny.

There are practically no contraindications for swimming in thermal water in an open-air pool.

There are 14 of them in the Tula region alone. Several of the largest ones are comfortably equipped, but there are also “wild ones” that simply burst out of the ground. It is not very convenient to visit them.

Adyghe thermal water contains compounds of cobalt, barium, iodine, bromine, boron and zinc. Thanks to them, the springs have a whole bunch of healing properties.

When swimming:

♦ easily relieve stress and overexertion;
♦ slows down the aging process;
♦ kills bacteria;
♦ removes salt from the body;
♦ cleanses the body of toxins and salts;
♦ strengthens the immune system;
♦ heals the female reproductive system;
♦ restores the nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory systems.

The secret of the humpbacked horse

The springs of Adygea have a hydrocarbonate-chloride-sodium composition of water and a high content of silicic acid and sulfur. According to experts Ministry of Health of the Republic, silicon is a truly powerful water activator with significant bactericidal properties.

Water does not spoil, is preserved for a long time, and is purified. Silicon-activated water has a detrimental effect on microorganisms and suppresses bacteria that cause rotting and fermentation. Active precipitation of heavy metals occurs in it, the water becomes clean in appearance and pleasant in taste.

Due to their composition, Caucasian thermal springs have the “humpbacked horse” effect: they not only heal the body, but also slow down the aging process.

“Every year we come to the thermal springs of Adygea. In winter, even when the air temperature is slightly below zero, in the pool it is stable at +40. Steam rises from the water, creating a sauna effect. You can get out and dive into a snowdrift, play in the snow, and then back into the hot water. We swam in the spring both in summer and autumn,” says a Muscovite Evgeny Svetlov.

There are practically no contraindications for swimming in thermal water in an open-air pool. The unique composition of the water will help get rid of many diseases and accumulated fatigue.

The thermal springs of Adygea were discovered by Soviet geologists who, during exploration in the foothills of the Caucasus, discovered aquifers with hot water (about 100°) during drilling. But, since the thermal baths were not the ultimate goal of exploration, the wells were mothballed and then forgotten about. As time passed, the wells that had not been maintained began to leak. Local residents, having discovered a hot spring, equipped it with a simple “swimming area”. But soon people with an entrepreneurial spirit became interested in the composition of water. The analysis showed that this water is beneficial for human health, after which recreation centers and sanatoriums began to be built around the wells.

Why and to whom are hot springs useful?

Thermal water is a unique medicine given to us by nature! It will help restore beauty and health, prolong youth and improve appearance. Of course, provided that you use it correctly.

Benefit

Mineral water contained in the springs contains useful inorganic components. It stimulates active restoration of the body, increases vitality, helps cope with cardiovascular, nervous and endocrine disorders, as well as skin diseases. Bromine and iodine ions and gases enter the blood and tissues through the skin, improving the functioning of organs. This explains the beneficial effects of the thermal spring.

Indications for the use of thermal springs

  • Carbon dioxide sources are suitable for patients with asthma, heart disease, and hypertension.
  • Iodine-bromine sources are prescribed for diseases of the thyroid gland, as well as for nervous disorders.
  • Sodium chloride baths are unique in that they improve the functioning of the brain and endocrine system. Doctors recommend using them for metabolic disorders, depression, joint diseases, for skin rejuvenation, and for skin diseases. Water also has a beneficial effect on gynecological and urological diseases. Indicated for varicose veins.

Baths are useful for muscle pain, neuralgia, and rehabilitation after illnesses. You can use the grace of thermal waters for no more than 20 minutes. The duration of the bath depends on the disease and temperature. Before treatment, you should consult your doctor!

Contraindications

Healthy people will benefit from taking a bath. If there are deviations, they should be taken with caution.

Who is not suitable for immersion in the source?

  1. Patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, since sugar levels can drop to a critical level.
  2. Women during their periods.
  3. Pregnant women after the third trimester. For the first three months, it is permissible to immerse yourself in a source, but not a very hot one.
  4. Patients with acute infectious diseases: sore throat, pyelonephritis, bronchitis. Due to the influence of water, the infection can spread throughout the body.
  5. Patients with epilepsy, anyone prone to seizures.
  6. For tumors, uterine fibroids, mastopathy.

Hot springs of Tyumen and Sverdlovsk region

The springs located near Tyumen allow you to swim at any time of the year. The most relevant springs in Verkhniy Bor, they differ in the types of pools. The water is healing, has a tonic effect on the body, and is useful for cardiovascular and nervous disorders. Water temperature is 30-40 degrees. Mineral water "Tyumenskaya-2" in the source is bromine, sodium chloride, with a total mineralization of 75 grams per liter.

The baths of the Sverdlovsk region are located in the towns of Rezh and Turinsk. These are radon waters of various compositions, which contain radon gas. Such baths normalize microcirculation in the skin, improve heart condition and stabilize blood pressure.

You can always check with the managers of the UralTurGroup company by contact numbers for information about holidays at hot springs.

What to do if you want to go on an unforgettable trip, at the same time improve your health, take care of your appearance, and take a break from the hustle and bustle, but you only have one vacation, and that’s in winter? The ideal solution is to visit a resort with thermal springs!

Thermal springs are underground waters that come to the surface, the temperature of which does not fall below 20 °C throughout the year. These unique natural objects contribute to the active restoration of health, maintaining beauty and prolonging youth. Not to mention the fact that they are often located in the most beautiful corners of the planet.

History of “living” water

The study of the healing properties of hot springs goes back to ancient times. Centuries-old legends tell that initially people observed sick and wounded animals that were healed by plunging into natural warm bodies of water.

The ancient Greeks and ancient Romans already fully understood the benefits of bathing in thermal waters and massively built their baths near hot springs. However, the scientific approach to using thermal water, depending on its chemical composition and the health problems to be solved, began to be widely used only from the middle of the 19th century.

Today, balneotherapy is a global health and beauty industry, a universal treatment without the use of drugs, which complements and sometimes completely replaces traditional drug treatment.

What are the types of thermal springs?

First of all, thermal springs, depending on the water temperature, are divided into:

  • subthermal, or warm – from 20 °C to 36 °C;
  • thermal, or hot – from 37 °C to 42 °C;
  • hyperthermal, or very hot – above 43 °C

Temperature is one of the main factors influencing the chemical composition and healing properties of thermal waters. The higher it is, the higher the concentration of minerals in the water and its biological activity.

The Icelandic natural geothermal spring Deildartungukver is the largest and hottest in Europe. The water temperature in it all year round is 97 °C, and it bursts to the surface in the form of geysers - fountains of boiling water and steam under high pressure. The source supplies hot water to all settlements within a radius of 100 km.

The high therapeutic effectiveness of thermal springs is due, first of all, to their unique chemical composition. The water in them is enriched with a large number of mineral salts, micro- and macroelements: potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium, sulfur, chlorine, manganese, zinc, silicon, selenium, iron, copper, iodine, bromine, fluorine, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and also in small quantities - radioactive substances, for example, radon.

Thermal waters and health

It is important to remember that visiting resorts with thermal springs has nothing in common with a traditional beach holiday. All thermal waters have pronounced biological activity, however, being very different from each other in temperature and mineral composition, they have completely different effects on the body. Therefore, before visiting thermal baths, pools and lakes, it is necessary to consult a doctor in order to choose the most suitable source for each individual case.

For example, carbon dioxide thermal waters are most suitable for those suffering from asthma, hypertension and coronary heart disease. For diseases of the nervous system and thyroid gland, iodine-bromine supplements are indicated. Lesions of the musculoskeletal system and skin diseases are effectively treated in hydrogen sulfide sources, and sodium chloride sources are recommended for metabolic disorders, diseases of the endocrine system and to stimulate brain activity.

!

To avoid dizziness and loss of consciousness, when immersing yourself in a thermal spring, the heart area should remain above the water.

Thermal water promotes the treatment of gynecological and urological diseases. It has a beneficial effect on the respiratory system and joints, and is excellent for chronic fatigue, as well as during the rehabilitation period after surgery and injuries. In addition, bathing in thermal springs strengthens the immune system and increases the body's resistance to the effects of pathogenic bacteria and viruses.

Thermal springs are contraindicated

  • Suffering from severe cardiovascular pathologies and blood diseases.
  • Patients with type I diabetes mellitus.
  • Susceptible to epileptic seizures and prone to convulsions.
  • Patients with all forms of tuberculosis.
  • During the period of acute inflammatory and infectious diseases.
  • Having any neoplasms, both malignant and benign.
    Pregnant women (from the fourth month). Until this date - only in warm springs.
  • Women, during menstruation.
  • For all chronic diseases in the acute stage.

!

The duration of the procedure in thermal springs should not exceed 15–20 minutes.

Thermal waters and beauty

Thermal waters are also widely used as active ingredients in various cosmetics. As part of skincare cosmetics, they perfectly moisturize, cleanse, soothe and tighten the skin, promote its regeneration and increase elasticity, and protect the skin from harmful environmental influences.

Depending on the biochemical composition, the waters of different thermal springs can have different effects on the condition of the skin, so they must be selected in accordance with the desired cosmetic effect.

For dry skin The most suitable are the so-called hypertonic waters. Saturated with mineral salts, they have excellent moisturizing and toning properties.

For oily or irritation-prone skin Thermal waters with a low content of mineral salts, which are called hypotonic, are ideal. They most effectively normalize the water-lipid balance of the skin and have a direct bactericidal effect on it.

Universal, suitable for any skin type , are considered isotonic thermal waters, which remarkably soothe and nourish skin cells and have pronounced anti-inflammatory properties.

There are also various ways to use thermal waters in cosmetology. They can either be used in their pure form in the form of a spray, which is sprayed directly onto the skin of the face and body, or be part of a variety of cosmetic products: tonics, lotions, creams, serums, etc.

The use of cosmetics based on thermal waters is effective for both day and night care. Ideally, it is advisable to use it, especially in combination with any other cosmetic products and procedures, after consulting a cosmetologist - in order to avoid the risk of allergic reactions.

Good afternoon We returned from Valencia at the end of September. Before the trip, we found the website of the Myvalencia individual tour agency, called and were pleasantly surprised - everything that was promised on the website really happened. We expressed our wishes to manager Dmitry, discussed it, and received the entire description by email. We ordered a transfer from Valencia airport to Gandia, 10 days later back to Valencia, three excursions in Valencia and transfer to the airport. Moreover, if it is written on the website that if you order at least one excursion, transfer to the airport is free - however, they took you for free. Moreover, they gave very good discounts on 2 out of 3 excursions. They offered to make a partial advance payment, but at will. We didn’t, we paid on the spot for each product separately. Two days before the flight, they sent a photo of the driver meeting him, no signs. Roman met us on time, quickly took us to Gandia, and talked about Spain along the way. After 10 days, he came for us, and Roman also drove us in Valencia. We really liked that all days one person was responsible for our trip, we could always contact him by phone if we had any questions. He brought us to the hotel, came with us to the reception, and made sure that everything was in order. A couple of hours later he took us on a scooter excursion through the parks of Turia. Great! Although I personally wasn’t able to ride a scooter well right away, there weren’t many people there during the day, so we rode both there and back successfully. We stopped wherever we liked, Roman told us about each bridge and interesting places. He showed us where the entrance to the biopark was, where the ticket office was, where to cross the bridge - in general, we were then able to quickly find our way around. Then we also took a ride around the City of Science and Arts, although this was not included in the excursion, but then we were also able to navigate on our own when going there, to the Oceanographic. Then, instead of the hotel, he took us to the El Saler supermarket and told us where the toy store was. We felt help and care for us, and not only from Roman, but also the manager Dmitry from Moscow also contacted us several times by email. So don’t worry, the Muvalencia agency won’t leave you alone with questions, it will help. A day later, Roman picked us up from the hotel for a walking tour of old Valencia, the guide brought us directly to the hotel, and in the evening he took us to a small restaurant with a flamenco show. I ordered everything myself in advance, a table and snacks. Our special thanks to Roman for flamenco. It was real FLAMENCO, we even forgot about the delicious (very tasty) snacks, it was so mesmerizing, we couldn’t tear ourselves away. Roman picked us up at night, but after such a performance I didn’t even want to sleep. And in the morning he took us to the plane. Thanks to Roman, thanks to Dmitry, thanks to Myvalencia, I really want to come again, again with them, since we haven’t had time to see everything yet. I recommend it to everyone, everything is great. GREAT! See you!

We had a family vacation during the autumn holidays.

We had a family vacation during the autumn holidays. Quite by accident we found the website of the company “My Valencia” on the Internet. We applied for two excursions and were pleasantly surprised that they would meet us and take us from the airport and back for free!
Great job by guide Roman! He showed us the new, beautiful and well-groomed Valencia (we had already been here before, but for one day)!
Now we have fallen in love with this city!
It was a wonderful excursion to the caves with the underground river on boats! The child and my husband and I really liked it!
We will return to this extraordinary city again!
And of course, we won’t even think about where to turn to organize excursions!!
There is still a lot of interesting things to see!
I recommend this company!!

All liked it!

We visited Valencia for the first time in September 2016, and meeting a wonderful person and storyteller Roman (My Valencia company) was a wonderful gift from our vacation. We ordered a transfer from the airport to the apartment and several excursions with this company, and we were provided with a return transfer to the airport as a bonus! We were pleasantly surprised by the prices for the excursion program compared to other guides, while the intensity and quality do not suffer. Special thanks to Roman for the help he provided us in solving personal problems, his punctuality, and his erudition. We sincerely wish the company prosperity and pleasant tourists! Thank you very much for the excellent organization of our holiday.
Kuznetsovs: Nadezhda and Alexander

Hi all. At the beginning of September we vacationed in Valencia. Everything is just great. Before departure we contacted this agency. We were met by a wonderful guy Roman. Generally beautiful. And he met. And organized excursions. Very polite. Punctual. He told everything, showed everything. Well done overall. And just a good guy. ??. I advise everyone - if you go there, contact him. You will not regret. And everything is fine. And Spain and Valencia and seaside holidays. One minus is that the tourism sector is poorly developed. But that's good. More calm.

In Valencia - for the second time. We usually go sightseeing on our own, but this time we decided to visit the Caves outside the city and book a tour there. While still in Moscow, we called a representative of this agency Myvalencia, since they had the cheapest prices, and agreed on a specific date for the excursion, and upon arriving in Valencia they confirmed our desire.
Everything was great! Punctual, polite, interesting!
At the appointed time, a beautiful Mercedes car with a handsome and erudite guide, Roman, arrived at our hotel. We drove about an hour to the caves and learned a lot about the surroundings of Valencia and the history of the Caves. All issues with tickets and audio guide were quickly resolved on the spot. We explored the caves while moving along the underground river by boat; it was very interesting to walk inside the rocks. We were taken back not to the hotel, but at our request to another place in Valencia. Thank you.
We wish the company growth and prosperity! We will definitely contact them next time. We recommend it to everyone!

We vacationed with our son in Valencia in November 2016 and used the service of this travel agency, went to the thermal springs and bodega. I liked the excursions, and the representative of the company, Roman, organized everything with dignity and turned out to be an interesting conversationalist. Therefore, I recommend it to others - you can confidently contact Myvalencia. Have a good holiday for everyone, and for the development of the company.

A wonderful holiday with excellent sincere service!

I express my deep gratitude to MyValencia and in particular to Roman. The excursion to the caves was amazing, and the visit to flamenco was the very cherry on the cake that leaves an aftertaste to the whole holiday in Valencia. I would like to dwell on this particular event, because, in addition to a truly excellent dinner and excellent service, when the show began, the whole world around disappeared. And a little over an hour flashed by like a blink. This is not a tourist show, it is an action that is exciting with its energy and emotions, sincerely experienced by the artists, which is transmitted to the audience. I have never seen or experienced such a storm of feelings anywhere, although I have traveled halfway around the world. As it turned out later, these were the most famous artists, some of the best. Would I have found this place myself? Hardly. I looked for it in advance and it wasn’t on my list. I even managed to meet and communicate with the artists - wonderful guys. If I come back, I will definitely go again. And I highly recommend it to everyone! Coming back to MyValencia, Roman made the stay very comfortable. An interesting, attentive conversationalist, a good storyteller. Very punctual and obligatory. I was pleasantly surprised by the complete correspondence to reality of what was stated on the website. And, of course, I was pleasantly pleased with the fact that there was a free transfer to the airport when ordering two excursions. Agree, it’s a trifle, but how nice. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, I wish you prosperity and will be happy to return!

Svetlana

Congratulation

I sincerely congratulate all the good people of the “My Valencia” company on the upcoming New Year! I wish you health, love and good luck to you and your loved ones. Companies - new unusual routes, kind tourists, prosperity. Thank you for your work, sincere and attentive attitude towards us, travelers!

The trip organized by your company left a vivid impression: Guadalest conquered with mountain landscapes, Algar - with water extravaganzas. Special thanks for the trip to Calpe, to Mount Ifach, carried out at our request.
It was comfortable and pleasant to communicate with the guide Roman. All our wishes were fulfilled in full.
We will be glad to use your services the next time we visit Valencia.
Vladimir and Sergey.
